Stayed at Margo Beach Hotel for a big family reunion trip. The location is wonderful - right on the beach with an easy drive into town. The resort is beautiful, rooms were clean and VERY spacious. Never had to fight over the beach loungers, there were plenty. There were a few quirks, like only receiving ONE key card that controls electricity in a 2 bedroom, 5 person suite... we are not always together and it was a pain to try to pass the key back and forth. And saying the suite is an ocean view was a biiiiiiiit of a stretch. More like ocean peep. But, really, the showstopper is the staff. So friendly, so accommodating of our large and boisterous extended family, always extending nice hospitality. George at the bar was so sweet, and George at breakfast was such a treat. I miss his cheerful "KALIMERA!!!!" each morning. Breakfast itself was spectacular - 4 kinds of eggs, breakfast meat, fresh squeezed OJ, beautifully soft croissants, cheese pie, custard, yogurt with local honey, tiganethes and on and on... oh, and their Greek Salad was the best I had on the entire trip. We're home now, and I actually miss this place... that...
Read moreWe had a room with a "sea" view. Furthermore we were disappointed that the only see view was from our belcony in a small opening in the main entrance of the facilities. We think that they need to change to a "partial sea view" hence all the bedrooms don't overlook the sea but inward corridor. I would definitely add more local dishes to the menu it's too commercial for the guests and should reflect the region including some local seafood. The breakfast was nice the first few days but them it became the same, some changes in the menu also required since eggs are getting tierdsome on the 7th day. Also do not restrict the quests to one cup on coffee at breakfast. Coffee should be unlimited especially during breakfast time. Also the guy who controls the sunbeds needs to calm down and not take it so seriously it should work off a first come first serve basis and leave it that way for the rest of your stay. Maybe offer some kind of entertainment in the evening so the guests arnt forced to drive to the neighboring city for...
Read moreWe traveled down to Gythio from Athens for a quick two-day escape with our toddler. The location and hotel were exactly what we were looking for. The beach is amazing - fine small rocks and fabulous views. Unlike many other hotel beaches, it was also quiet and relaxing. The hotel has set up multiple rows of comfortable chaise lounges with umbrellas covers. The beachside service ran by Giorgos was wonderful. An Alpha beer has never tasted so good! The rooms were spacious and clean with effective AC as well. The aesthetic of the hotel and landscaping were beautiful as well, making the experience feel luxurious. We loved the breakfast, with fresh squeezed orange juice and lots of kid friendly options. We enjoyed our lunches there as well, delicious salads and gyro tacos. The bar staff were very kind and made a...
