We spend a lot of hours to reach porto heli from home and this was disappointing. The room was quite small but the sea view was very nice. This is on the other side of main Porto heli with bars , restaurants and cafes and better views so you need a car, fortunately we had one. Although it is said that it was renovated, still looks bit dated with Not good finishes. The room was small, the bathroom tiny with no technical ventilation just a small window inside the bath facing a small narrow shaft(the circulation of fresh air was pery limited), plus you could hear everything in the toilet of your next door neighbours. The water of the bath and sink was very salty with bad taste , it felt like you were not having bath still feeling itchy. Not changing bedsheets and towels for 3 days, although we asked for it. The pool water and pool floor seemed dirty. The lifeguard was very annoying. I have travelled in many hotels with pools, i have never seen such a thing before. She was whistling to adults and kids. She was being very impolite making notices to the people in the pool. It was embarrassing, especially for adults. It felt like being watched by a police officer. She told kids that she wouldn't let them in the pool again, and she was being angry to some kids because they splashed accidentally water on her. She started placing chains around the pool 15-20 minutes before closure, which was not safe, whistling exactly on time 6.30pm to people to get out. The bar woman at the pool bar made impolite comments. The breakfast hall was not very well air-conditioned. Not aircon in other parts of the hotel. Although we booked for 4 nights we left earlier. Although the breakfast was poor , the people in the breakfast room and the man working in the inside hotel bar were very friendly, polite whiling to help and bring you...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel for three days, and the experience was highly disappointing.
First and foremost, the room was old and definitely not renovated as promised. There were only three plugs in the entire room—one by the bed, one for the TV, and one outside of the bathroom. The building itself is extremely old, with the pool, restaurant, bar, and reception being the only areas nicely renovated; the rest were terrible.
On the first day, I couldn't sleep due to the terrible smell in the room, likely from the cleaning chemicals. The water quality was another major issue—it wasn't filtered, making it impossible even to brush my teeth due to the high salt content. The same problem applied to the shower, which was extremely unpleasant.
Upon entering the room, we had to ask for the shampoo dispensers to be refilled. The next day, we had to request a refill for the shower gel as well. The overall cleanliness was poor, to say the least.
Most of the signages around the hotel is only in Greek, ( breakfast timings, activities, parking information) which was a significant issue for my boyfriend, who found it impolite and unaccommodating for guests who don't speak the language. This lack of consideration extended to the staff, who were generally unhelpful, with the exception of a kind lady working in the pizza restaurant. What is more, even if I informed the staff during check in that my boyfriend doesn’t speak the language, the continued giving information about our stay.
The breakfast area was another letdown, as it was not cleaned properly. There was leftover food from the night buffet on the chairs and tables, which was quite off-putting.
There are many more issues I could mention, but these points give a small description of the situation.
Positives: the pizza restaurant...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay at the hotel. I spent a lot of time choosing a hotel in the region, reading comments, looking for value for money. Most of the negative comments were about the modest breakfasts and need for renovation. But athough the hotel is not new, it has been renovated recently, especially the swimming pool area and the restaurant. The latter has a very good chef! The lunch we had was really delicious and by a moderate price. As for the breakfasts, the pastry was really good, and I would like to notice that having coffee and croissants outside the hotel for a family of 4 costs 25 euros. So for us it worked very well. An ordinary person who comes to the sea to relax needs the sea, the sun, sunbeds, and an umbrella and at night - a clean comfortable bed, a clean shower and a toilet. This hotel has it all and even more: a really wonderful large swimming pool, a nice bar (our kids really liked smoothies there), a good restaurant and a beach, of course. And plenty of space in wardrobes! And extremely important part of the hotel is it’s staff. I can hardly imagine nicer, more helpful and more friendly people. They created a cosy, comfortable, friendly and cheerful atmosphere, were extremely helpful (we had a difficulty, which they easily solved, although they didn’t have to) and considerate, gave us some useful tips about exploring the area. So they did everything to ensure that nothing could spoil our holidays. In brief, we spent...
