Our 14-night stay at OKU Kos was truly memorable, offering a wonderful blend of relaxation and comfort. The hotel's architecture, cleanliness, spacious rooms, user-friendly ordering app, and the serene private beach are genuinely mesmerizing, and the sunset views we specifically came for did not disappoint.

What truly elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional staff. Every single person we encountered – Feri, Maria, Angeliki, Chrysanthy, Eva, Fotini, Irene, and so many others – were incredibly polite, positive, and radiated a cheerful vibe. Their attentiveness was remarkable; from readily available mosquito sprays to cozy blankets by the fireplaces, they created a truly comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The housekeeping team also deserves a special mention for being so precise, friendly, clean, and discreet in their work. We really appreciated their attention to detail. We absolutely loved the overall feeling of the hotel, from the staff to fellow guests – it felt very harmonious.

We also enjoyed the various activities on offer, including movie nights, beach parties, and yoga sessions. The stargazing experience was a particular highlight for us; it was interactive, fun, and genuinely informative – something that absolutely should be continued.

Our daily breakfast was a consistent highlight. The selection was excellent, with fresh, juicy fruits, delicious pastries, veggies, nuts, alternative milks, good coffee, and perfectly made omelets. Not much alternative protein sources for vegans.

While our stay was largely fantastic, we do have some constructive feedback, as we believe OKU Kos strives for excellence. We felt there was a slight disconnect between the advertised concept of holistic tradition and farm-to-fork dinning and the execution of their services and products, occasionally giving the impression of cost-saving measures and lack of transparency in their product sourcing. For instance, providing only one bottle of water per room per night felt a bit sparse; two would be much more accommodating (even if the hotel tells you that the tap water is drinkable). We also felt the bathroom amenities could be elevated with local, organic alternatives, and loose-leaf organic teas would better suit the hotel's concept and pricing than standard tea bags. Small details like the quality of the matcha powder (which was sugared) and the presence of Nutella was totally misplaced in this hotel. The disappearance of avocado after the first breakfast for the remainder of our two-week stay was also noticeable. Our main area for feedback revolves around the food quality, consistency, and portioning. While the menu excited us pre-arrival and pricing wasn't the issue, the value received was. For example, a €26 Wagyu Baos with one thumb sized Wagyu (mostly fat) was quite disappointing. We also observed inconsistencies of the tastes and portion of the dishes, the Greek salad was sometimes 1/3 of its portion and the €19 baby spinach salad with only a sprinkle of feta felt overpriced for what was delivered. The €16 fruit platter, featuring the same breakfast fruits and missing the described Yuzu Coconut dressing, was another small letdown. When you eat here for lunch and dinner, you spent at least 200-300€ a day on food and my husband was still hungry. As a five star hotel with a guided Michelin restaurant, we expected a higher level of consistency and oversight from a head chef. We still wonder if products are locally sourced. Furthermore, the lack of a special or creative menu/dish made our dinning experience a bit repetitive over 15 days.

Finally, while the massage was okay and the masseur was polite and attentive to pressure, we felt that for €170, the experience lacked the confident, flowing, and stress-relieving touch we'd expect from a professional. Consequently, we didn't book a second session.

Despite these points, the incredible staff and the overall beautiful environment made our stay truly enjoyable. We hope this feedback helps OKU Kos continue its journey toward becoming the best...

I would like to leave a comprehensive review but that would go to much in detail. I decided to split the review in Cons and Pros.

Cons:

At the breakfast there was some things what we are used to get in a 5 Star Hotel not available or only for an additional payment: Latte macchiato, fresh fruits like pineapple..., no custom made omelette, only one kind of juice and that juice you got only from the waiter.

At the Dinner you could order from Special of the day what was 2 different meals (with half-Board) and you could order from the not changing menu card (fixed meals over the time we were being there) the diversity was to less for us and to less greek character. Generally to less Greek food was available - that we would expect when we travel to Kos and Greek island.

Loud resort, the farmer very near the resort is shooting 24/7 - around the clock and you hear that when you relax on the private pool or when you sleep in your bed.

Rooms are more than rustic, it’s more poor than rustic/puristic/minimalistic. There was even not tiles in the shower, that cannot be very hygienically because it’s impossible to clean the shower without tiles. It looks for us more they had no more money to tile the shower.

The bed was as well very uncomfortable, the bed was way too much soft. I understand that the bed cannot fit for everyone but the bed should have a mid strength between hard and soft and that was not the case.

Not child friendly, they have no bathtub. Did you tried to wash a child below 1 year old in the shower? Really tough! At some stairs not stroller friendly.

We paid while the vacation in cash all the time. When we was do the checkout they wanted still money from us because of two open bills. I was reject them and explained that there was all paid already. They was finally not insist for the payment.

Overall was the hotel and rooms are not 5 Stars, when you checked the ground after the cleaning service was there it was like not cleaned.

Pros:

Very heartfelt service from the most employee there. Special thanks to Anastasia, Anna-Maria, Igor and the other stuff I could not remember the names from the waiters. But they was making great and fresh made food for our 9.5 month boy and served us as well very nicely!

The bar near the restaurant is amazing, when we would not have our young boy with us I am sure we would stay and enjoy there for several hours in that 10 days.

The private and the public pools were great and we enjoyed it really. As well the beach is nice but it could be more clean. We was see several waste there.

Generally the resort view is very nice and like painted, great for nice pictures. But you need to check for the details.

Conclusion:

We would never come back to this hotel and as well we cannot recommend to somebody to visit the hotel for vacation. If the hotel would be cheaper related to the quality, then OK, but not for the delivered quality and the current costs. I am sure as well that this hotel will be no more so popular after this year. If you really want a modern 5 Star Hotel and you are used to stay at such Hotels you will be not happy with Casa Cook Kos.

Private Parking place was very good and close to our rooms, we never had a problem that we would not find a parking place in the resort.

The review reflect our personal made experience when we visit this Hotel mid Sept. 2017...

Spend one week at Oku Kos for our babymoon.

Let’s start with positives: the location is stunning and the hotel has an incredible sunset view. You can enjoy it during dinner and it’s absolutely gorgeous the private beach is nice, offers a lovely view. In June the beach beds were often free so you did not have to wake up early to reserve a bed. the sea is shallow the pool was also nice and deep the territory of a hotel is beautiful, they have invested in the decor and planted lots of trees the breakfast offered a lot of variety. They also serve good coffee, even matcha at breakfast. the dinner was delicious the hotel offers an open air cinema and a stargazing once a week, both activities were nice. There was supposed to be also DJs and live music, but we never saw it happen. Yoga sessions were also offered twice a day.

Unfortunately, there had been quite a few negatives that I bound to mention as the hotel claims to be a boutique 5 star experience and charges a lot of it. With a few exceptions (breakfast crew), the staff has not been very attentive, which is a big surprise as usually in Greece hospitality is top notch. There is barely any service at the pool/beach - you have to actively hunt to get waiters attention for an order. At the beach the QR codes do not work, so you have to walk up yourself to order someone at the beach bar. The main staff at the dinner was arrogant, the waiting time is much too long. Some of the male reception staff looked bewildered if it’s their first time working at the hotel, which is not what you expect for a 5 start hotel. the prices for food and drinks are inappropriately high. Starters around 20€, mains around 40€ (linguini pasta 67€), cocktails are around 25€. While the dinner was delicious, the portions are pretty small and did not justify the price tag. Lunch is also priced similarly, but it’s not even good: cheese is not melted on the pizza, chicken souvlaki was dry, etc.

Other smaller issues: no bathrobe in the rooms rooms are pretty small, the pillows were so uncomfortable super old AC with no remote control and a fan button doesn’t work - it gets very hot at night the beach beds get uncomfortable after a while as you can not lie down flat the pool bed mattresses had dents in them, they should have been replaced long time ago the hotel ordered us a taxi to go to Zia mountain, the taxi had been 45 mins late and even then they told us that “they might have not even accepted the order, it’s a busy season”. No prior warning that this could have happened, we waited an hour in a heat and missed our reservation. The staff said you need to make a taxi request in advance, but there were a few people who were also waiting for a taxi for a long time who made a reservation a few days in advance. For the airport I recommend you order transfer, I used kos4all.com and they have been reliable. not sure why the hotel asks you a dietary restrictions as they were not accommodated. I am alcohol free as I’m heavily pregnant, and I was served a meal with the alcohol in the sauce, with no warning from the waiter.

All in all, while the location is great, this hotel serves you a 3 star experience under a 5 star price tag. We would not be coming back,...

We tested three resorts (5 star category) on Kos during our vacation. The "OKU" was the last resort on our trip - and also the most expensive (600 € per night) compared to the others. (Category pool suite-sharing pool) Our expectations were accordingly high. The "OKU" clearly impresses with its fantastic architectural style. We felt like we were traveling in New Mexico again. The pool suites are really nice and also very clean. The associated beach and the great loungers are also fantastic and super chilled, since you are not exposed to music. The staff were all polite and courteous, although you could tell that most of them don't work in the hospitality industry on a permanent basis, they really tried their best. The resort also allowed us a free "late check out" since our return flight was in the evening. Thanks for that! What we didn't like at all: the "Marshall Speakers" in the rooms are meant really well, only some guests take them to the terrace, which results in an unbelievable volume and musical confusion - from relaxing and quiet, at the suites pool, is then nothing more. All that remains is to go to the beach. Breakfast was included, which we tested once, but then skipped the other days. We don't need the 5-star breakfast, but not even some fish or Camembert, the scrambled eggs are watery and bland - "Egg Benedict"/"fried eggs" etc. are only available for an extra charge, and the orange juice isn't freshly squeezed - others can do that 5 star resorts/hotels absolutely better. The breakfast here seems to be mostly geared towards influencers with a focus on "functional food". The restaurant (if you don't have breakfast on the terrace) also has the charm of a canteen. We tested the "room service" on the first evening and were absolutely disappointed with the quality and execution of the food. The "Cesar Salad" alone was a very chunky, hard salad with some dressing and a couple of chicken strips. The "salmon bruschetta" was so hard you could only eat the salmon. The "club sandwich" the next day - for in between - was ok, although the price of 36 € for a sandwich and four cappuccinos is not in proportion. The housekeeping, which among other things cleaned the neighboring suites, made sure that you fell out of bed in time with the "Marshall Box", as well as loud screams and singing. The housekeeping was also very unorganized in the processes, we noticed that daily in our suite. A drill was also started next to us at 8:15 a.m. and then hammered on forever, so that we left our suite in a hurry. Of course there is always something to fix - but throwing the guests out of their beds in the morning? Note: directly in the water - really hardly recognizable - there are two heavy anchors in the ground, which are not marked by buoys, if you throw yourself into the water here...!!! Conclusion: the "OKU" really has the potential to meet high demands - but is probably satisfied with the "hyped influencer" contributions. It's a shame that it's only an upscale "holiday camp" and unfortunately not a 5 star resort. Unfortunately, our visit to the "OKU" in Ibiza has now been cancelled.

Thank you OKU KOS for this incredible experience. A moment that lasts forever! We’ve traveled a lot and have seen so many places around the world and OKU KOS was beyond. The best we‘ve ever seen and been!!! A laidback luxury hotel where you can literally chill&calm down, be on your privacy and have amazing food as if you would dine in a Michelin Star Restaurant every day. (from Asian fusion to wagyu beef, fresh grilled fish and incredible desserts - top!) The design, the interior, the building and landscaping of OKU KOS is just wow! You just want to take pictures of every corner every day. The hotel complex felt like a small village. So huge that you rarely saw someone around. A beautiful pool area with sunloungers and a private sandy beach which was less than a minute walk where we stayed the whole day with comfortable loungers, with a perfect selection of food and with the best sunset view ever. Also a wow to the things you offer: Yoga, the gym, Outdoor Cinema Night, Stargazing, Standup Paddling and …etc. - applause to you! A big shoutout to the staff. This vibe of your Team was the ice on the cake. Everyone unbelievable friendly, kind, caring, polite and funny. You will not see any show off friendliness!!! Despite of that they try to fulfill you every wish! I mean you cannot take it for granted when you crave for a lava cake and the kitchen makes you one even it was not thursday (HB Degustation) or when you ran out of your cigarettes and they buy you one so you don’t have to leave the hotel. Small things that counts so much. Well done to the bar/restaurant manager (unfortunately we forgot the name) - You lead your team in a perfect way so each of everyone has fun in the job and is authentic and not that typical stiff and seriousness in a 5* hotel. A special, special thanks to: Vassili - from Naruto to Metallica, he’s a legendary guy. We remembered the first day he served us and said that this vacation will be the best of our lives and he is definitely right! Till now we are speechless over the edge. Servio - the Greek Albanian. You have the heart on the right side. You have such a warm personality. And the way you put your professionalism in a hearty and humorous way - unbelievable! Armando - the smiley speedy Gonzales. My girlfriend gave him this nickname the first time she saw him. Fast working and always happy with a smiling face. Dream big so you will be successful like Tupac or Biggy😉 Also a big thanks to the other Vassili, Irene, Alkris and Redone. P.S. Thank you so much for the free upgrade to a room with balkony and seaview!!! The Hammock was the endgame. See you next year - we will come for sure. Regards Ismar & ieleen
