When we arrived at this beautiful place the first thing we needed to do was find someone who would be able to show us our room. As there is no reception, the arrival could be better. We stayed at the premium room, which has all necessities and the jacuzzi was nice and clean. We were really enjoying our stay. At day 5 we suddenly needed to switch rooms (even though we booked the premium suite for the week). We were shown the Sweet suite. Which seemed fine at first, but not really an upgrade which you would expect when needing to change rooms (even though the owner says it's an upgrade, the prices on the website tell something different). Gone was the kitchenette (dishes had to be cleaned in the small sink in the bathroom), no more closet, smaller room, less shadow on the terrace and the jacuzzi was so dirty due to growth of biofilm (micro-organisms) that we really smelled after going in for 5 minutes. Luckily there was a decent shower in the suite. The construction next to the building for the new rooms in 2023 was not helping the peace and quiet we had before. In the evening our bathroom got visited by some small ant like animals that were gone in the morning. After some angry calls with the owner (since he was never at Lameriana) and serious negotiations, we received a small compensation. Not so customer friendly. When you need to change rooms, check everything and say no when you notice similar things. Pro tip: when asking premium prices, make sure that you deliver what is mentioned on the website (24 hour reception, indoor pool, welcome drink,...) Concerning the advertised 24 hour reception: there isn't even something resembling a reception to begin with. A price list is also welcome. For everyone's information: breakfast is €10/person. Dinner is expensive compared to local dining options in the area. The 2 cleaning ladies that seems to be running everything for the owner are very friendly! Their service was great! Before the room change we would've given this 4 stars, but the end experience made us decide otherwise.

I had an awful experience here. We booked our stay 7 months in advance and paid for the honeymoon suite. Upon arrival no one was there to help. It took a few calls to get assistance, but a sweet woman came to show us around. We quickly realized the place was falsely advertised. The “restaurant” had no staff and was dirty. After driving 40 minutes from the airport, there was no place to eat. Then the owner tried to convince us to stay in a different room because it was “better”. When I requested to see the room I booked, he said it would take a few minutes to get prepared. The woman showed us the room and it was a complete construction zone. Filthy and unsafe. There were tools and supplies all over the room itself, random tiles and concrete out front, and the “private pool” had no water in it. When we asked for a refund the owner kept calling back to ask if we could just stay in the much smaller room (which also had a broken door). I booked through hotels.com and was able to get a refund, but they were unable to contact the owner to help with the process. He was ignoring all of their calls. A completely horrible experience. This place looks nothing like the photos. It is run down and has not been properly maintained.

Our 11-day stay at a remote hotel in Crete was an absolute delight. Tucked away in a serene and idyllic setting, this hidden gem offered a perfect blend of tranquility, luxury, and warm hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the hotel's charm and Georgia, the dedicated hotel worker, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.

One of the standout features of this hotel was its calm and natural surroundings. Nestled amidst breathtaking landscapes, it provided a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The peaceful ambiance, coupled with the untouched beauty of nature, offered a truly rejuvenating experience. It was a haven where we could immerse ourselves in the beauty of Crete and reconnect with the tranquility of the surroundings.

Despite its remote location, the hotel didn't compromise on luxury and comfort. It effortlessly combined the charm of a traditional quality hotel with modern amenities. The rooms were tastefully designed, reflecting the essence of Crete's original architecture while providing all the conveniences we could desire. The attention to detail in the renovation of the abandoned village houses was remarkable, and we were able to experience the perfect blend of heritage and contemporary elegance.

Our experience was made even more memorable by the graciousness of Georgia, who greeted us with genuine warmth and ensured that our needs were met throughout our stay. Every morning, we were treated to a delightful breakfast with live service, where Georgia's friendly smile and impeccable service created a welcoming atmosphere. We were touched by her thoughtfulness, as she even prepared a meal for us upon our late arrival, understanding our hunger after a long flight. Her dedication to ensuring our comfort was truly commendable and made us feel like cherished guests.

The hotel's infinity swimming pool was another highlight of our stay. It offered a refreshing oasis where we could relax and unwind. The pool's design seamlessly integrated indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing us to enjoy the breathtaking views while taking a dip. It was the perfect spot to soak up the Mediterranean sun and indulge in moments of pure serenity.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the hotel was its strategic location. Situated between Heraklion and Rethymnon, it allowed us to explore various surrounding villages and engage in a wide range of activities without extensive drives to the big cities. This convenience was a boon, as we could experience the local culture, visit historical sites, and savor authentic Cretan cuisine without venturing too far from our tranquil base.

In conclusion, our stay at this remote hotel in Crete was a truly exceptional experience. The calm and natural surroundings provided a sense of peace and serenity, while the luxurious comforts of the hotel exceeded our expectations. Georgia's warm hospitality and her exceptional care made us feel like part of a family. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and rejuvenating retreat, where the captivating beauty of Crete is seamlessly blended with modern comforts. We cannot wait to return and relive the magic of this extraordinary...

We were just engaged and my finacè and I booked Lameriana Secret Village through the Chase Travel rewards program. We stayed in 2 other hotels in Greece prior with no issues.

We arrived around 8PM and called before our arrival. When we arrived, I was so excited, the location was beautiful and I couldn't wait to get into the room and relax.

As soon as I arrived I met Maria who was kind but asked for my credit card to pay for the 4 nights. I explained we paid already through Chase. I called Chase and they confirmed to Maria directly.

Maria then called her husband who demanded we pay. After much back and forth and ZERO customer service or grace, he said we could stay the night but if we did not provide a credit card, we would have to leave the next morning.

This was a very secluded area and it was mid July - during the busiest time to visit Greece. My finacè was worried if they didn't let us stay, we would not find another place to go (or find one we could afford).

Maria's husband was insisting we call the third party service that works directly with the hotel - which I was unable to do since I am not the merchant. I asked several times for him to please check his email or reach out to Chase himself to settle the issue.

My finacè felt that if we stayed, they could block us in on the narrow road or worse. We were in a foreign place and he felt it was best to leave since the manager was so hostile.

We were forced to find another hotel and drive an hour away that night at 10PM, which we did. (We had already taken a 7 hour ferry ride and drove an hour to get to the hotel..so we were exhausted).

We had to pay $700+ (non-refundable) to one of the only hotels with vacancy in a different city.

I am working with Chase to get the points or funds back, but the Lameriana staff has not approved our refund. It's now been 12 days.

We're not the only guests who had this issue with management. I'll update my review if we...
