Wonderful family-friendly resort with calm sea, great service, and delicious food
We had a fantastic stay at this small, cozy hotel complex. The layout is charming — individual rooms located in small separate houses, which creates a sense of privacy and calm. The highlight for us was definitely the beach. About 85% of the coastline is protected by wave breakers, so there were virtually no waves. One side of the beach is sandy, the other more rocky, but still very beautiful. The water is clean and crystal clear — we could see little fish swimming around.
Our kids spent the entire day swimming in the sea, which is quite rare and very important for us as a family.
We also really enjoyed the food. We had half-board (breakfast and dinner), and the selection was very good. Everything was quite tasty — maybe slightly over-salted at times (especially meat and fish), but nothing major.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everyone tried to help and made us feel comfortable. A special mention to the restaurant team, who often anticipated our needs — they remembered our coffee orders and would bring them without even asking.
A big thank you to Evangelia, who was always kind, attentive, and understood everything without needing to explain. Also, the massage by George was excellent — very relaxing but with just the right amount of pressure.
The beach and pools were great. Almost all pools had salt water, and there was even an adults-only pool, which we really appreciated.
We truly enjoyed our time here and hope to return. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
One small downside: some of the internal paths between the rooms were a bit dirty — probably from the buggies going back and forth, leaving black marks. But other than that, there were no significant downsides at all.
Our stay at the hotel was truly wonderful — charming bungalows, a great beach, delicious food, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, everything was completely overshadowed on the last day by the unacceptable behavior of the hotel manager, Anastasia.
As the hotel was fully booked, we were unable to extend our room and had to wait for our taxi in the hotel lobby. At that moment, Anastasia approached us and, in a harsh tone, claimed that we were not allowed to sit there, as — according to her — the lobby was only for arriving guests, not departing ones. This statement makes no sense and is not supported by any visible hotel policy or signage. She then began to move our belongings in an extremely rude and disrespectful manner, insisting that we should sit elsewhere, where it was much hotter and uncomfortable, saying we were “in the way.”
Her behavior was unprofessional, aggressive, and completely inappropriate for someone in a managerial position in the hospitality industry. She acted more like a hostile gatekeeper than a guest relations professional. Instead of resolving guests’ concerns, she was barking orders and moving personal items without permission — absolutely unacceptable.
This experience left us with a very negative final impression of our stay. It is deeply disappointing that someone with such poor communication and interpersonal skills represents your hotel as a manager. We strongly urge the hotel management to investigate this incident and take appropriate action.
The end of a trip should leave a good memory. Sadly,...
Read moreParadise in Crete We stayed at this Resort for two weeks, and I must say they were wonderful. We were supposed to stay for a week and then move to another 5-star hotel, but we had such a great time that we extended our stay for another week to continue dreaming of this paradise.
Starting with the warm welcome from Anastasia, who looked after us throughout our vacation, always available and kind to our every request. The resort is immaculate, well-maintained, and has an exceptional location, with a bay protecting the two private beaches and the crystal-clear sea. There are plenty of well-spaced umbrellas on the beach, as well as just as many at the two pools, so even though the resort was fully booked, we never had any trouble finding our favorite spot without rushing after breakfast! All the umbrellas have a bell to summon the waiters to take your order directly from your lounger, and the cocktails are delicious. The main pool is wonderful, with saltwater, and a direct sea view in a very breezy spot. Given the August heat in Greece, it was a pleasure to sunbathe. Mid-morning, they would come by with fresh fruit offered directly on the loungers, a delicious snack! The clientele was mostly foreign, with a few Italians, and all were very reserved and unobtrusive. We initially had the room with the private pool, which was simply fantastic, with a direct sea view, absolute privacy and silence. The room had a well-designed outdoor garden with four loungers (two under a shaded gazebo and two in the garden), a sofa, and two very comfortable armchairs. What can I say? We had our perfect spot for every moment of the day: in the morning on the sofa, by the private infinity pool overlooking the saltwater Aegean Sea, in the afternoon in the shade of the gazebo, and in the evening on the armchairs gazing at the stars while listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the coast of northern Crete. A dream! For the last four days, having extended our stay at the last minute, as mentioned above, given the short notice, they were supposed to move us to another room, again with a pool, paying the appropriate upgrade. Instead, Anastasia surprised us by reserving the Presidential Suite Seafront View for us... what can I say... words can't describe the beauty and comfort of the two-floor villa with its enormous pool! What can I say... Anastasia, you'll be in our thoughts all year round!
The breakfast and dinner buffet was perfect, with international and Greek cuisine (amazing) always varied, exceptional seafood, and the pizza was always there, which, even though we weren't in Italy, was truly, truly good. And speaking as Italians, you can trust their opinion!!
All the dining room staff were exceptional. From the always smiling and kind young people especially Manolis who took our drink orders to the dining room Manager Dimitris who came by every evening to personally say hello (and was brilliant at picking up our lost sunglasses). By the end of the two weeks, we felt at home and always felt pampered by everyone. Greek hospitality is spectacular, but this resort was the Top. What can I say? We couldn't have chosen better! Highly recommended for spending time in a true...
Read moreEDIT after owner answer: Yes, indeed I use TripAdvisor and Google to review places, and I copy-paste the comments not to write twice the same thing. And yes, there is an intention, that hopefully you treat customers as a real 5 star hotel and stop giving worse rooms than the customers booked and paid for. Second intention is to warn others about this practice of yours, and the other things I mentioned in my original comment.
Very disappointed with the hotel, for the money they charge, they should be more careful with the way to provide their services. Starting with the check-in, where they asked for my credit card even for things that were already paid months in advance, I felt my credit card was more important than we were for the staff, check-in was long process and they kept us all standing there, instead of siting down and handling things by themselves. Then, they didn't gave us the rooms we booked, but they didn't tell us, we just found out later, and when we asked, they say that we can surely use the shared pool, even though we didn't have any umbrella assigned to our rooms, so we should take other's umbrella, which would have been really awkward if the other room tenants would want it, as it was assigned to them. A 5 stars hotel cannot do that, simply. If you don't have the room that was booked (which shouldn't happen in the first place) then you provide something better, but not worse. Of course they didn't want to give us any money back, remember that the credit card was the most important thing at check-in... they even wanted to take 100 euros per day as cover reservation if you wanted to pay anything assigning to the room instead of paying it on the spot... again, not real 5 star way of handling things. Breakfast was good, and overall the staff was friendly, although they never solved the problem with the room. Dinner options were terribly expensive, to the point that we thought it didn't make sense to pay 40€ for a buffet dinner, it would have been over 100 per family plus drinks, and the a-la-carte has a dish of grouper for over 50€! I am not sure how they cook that grouper but it is certainly not lobster and caviar... Anyway, we decided not to have dinners there, so cannot comment on quality of them. Lunch in the pool restaurant were ok, nothing super special, and not super expensive. Check-out was early for european standards, at 11:00 instead of 12:00, we didn't see it properly so we were late, but they had even canceled the room keys before it was actually 11:00! Again, unacceptable! And to finalize, this hotel is only good if you want to stay all the time in it, and don't mind paying the expensive dinners, or for visiting Rethymo and Heraklio, for all other nice spots in Crete, it is too far. Unfortunately, I won't be back to this hotel in my next visit to Crete, and I cannot really recommend it either, they care more about getting your money than providing a good service that would make you happy and worth...
