August 2015 was our third time in Milos so we felt we knew the place pretty well. I booked the studio with some trepidation as I had previously stayed either at the main town, Plakes, or the picturesque port of Pollonia. Papafragas Studios was a pleasant surprise as it was next to the sea and in a very quiet area. The amenities were basic (small fridge, electric kettle) but clean and well looked after. Every studio had an aircon as did ours though we didn't use as by leaving the windows open we had all the breeze we wanted. The bed was comfortable and very sturdy, something I particularly appreciated having been plagued by flimsy beds. ||The owner was helpful and unobtrusive. He kindly suggested that we can use the balcony as our room did not have a great view and indeed that's were we had our breakfast every morning and our evening beers. But the best thing was that in three minutes walk from our studio was a glorious beach were we could go snorkeling or dive from the rocks. Our mini Sarakiniko in walking distance. ||The budget price of the studio, only 49 euros per night for two people, meant that we could splash out and rent a car! ||Only problem was that we did not have a kitchen, but having a car we could drive...
Read moreThe rooms are quite nice and the surrounding area is not to bad either BUT everything else is just not ideal. We checked in at 4 pm with no one there at the reception, no note from the owners and no one answering the phone. We had to call so many times before we even got to anyone and could get into our room.
The whole time we stayed here, we haven’t seen the receptionist because they only work from 10-15 o clock and you’re usually not in your apartments at that time . Today, we wanted to check out at some point between 6 to 9 o clock but they didn’t manage to come here and now telling us we have to leave the money in cash.
The problem only really exists because the location is quite far away from everywhere you would want to go and if you don’t have a vehicle you are reliant on the bus which only drives 10 times a day ( first one at 7:15 last one at 22:30) and is not punctual at all. Sometimes it drives 20 minutes earlier sometimes 20 minutes late. And it just drives to the port where you have to get another bus to go to the place you want to visit. That can get quite annoying.
So I would tell you to get an apartment near the port and save you the hassle and money for...
Read moreOur stay at Papafragras Studio was disappointing. From the moment we arrived, there were multiple problems: the air conditioning didn't work, the sink was clogged, and there was no hot water. While the sink and hot water were fixed the next day, we had to go without AC for two nights before it was finally repaired on the third day. When we asked if anything could be done to make up for the inconvenience at the end of our stay, Sofia, our point of contact, was extremely rude and dismissive. She immediately told us the AC was "not her issue" and if that was the case why not communicate that in our messages when we brought up the issue twice. Throughout our stay, she never checked in to confirm the problems were resolved, nor did she show any concern for our experience. For the price we paid, arriving to a place with so many issues and then being treated with hostility and disrespect was unacceptable. The lack of professionalism and care changed our perspective of...
