Kinsterna Hotel – A Dream Destination for Families, Couples, and Anyone Seeking Tranquility
Our recent stay at Kinsterna Hotel was nothing short of magical - again. This was our third time staying here, but our first visit with our 18-month-old daughter, and after 14 unforgettable nights, we can confidently say that Kinsterna continues to exceed our expectations in every way.
The hotel is set in a truly unique location, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and sea views, just a short drive from Monemvasia. The peaceful, natural beauty of the estate creates a calming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. It's a place where time slows down, and every detail - from the architecture to the landscaping - reflects deep care and timeless charm.
We stayed in a Pool Villa, which was absolutely perfect for our family. Spacious, elegant, and very private, it gave us room to relax and enjoy quality time together. The private pool was a real treat, and the fridge in the room was perfect for storing milk and snacks for our daughter. Everything about the villa was thoughtfully designed for comfort and style.
Having visited twice before as a couple, we were curious to see how the hotel would feel with a small child - and we were blown away by how family-friendly it is. There is a playground (including a shaded beautiful treehouse!), swings hanging from ancient olive trees, and an indoor playroom close to the dinner and breakfast areas filled with books, a mini kitchen set, drawing tables, and other fun activities – perfect for little ones to enjoy safely, even during the warmer hours of the day.
One of our daughter’s favorite things was visiting the animals on the estate (horses, sheep, chickens, cats) – a joy that brought her (and us) so much delight. The grounds are perfect for leisurely strolls and discovering something new each day.
The hospitality at Kinsterna is exceptional. From day one, we felt welcomed like family. Special thanks to George, the General Manager, whose presence is warm and reassuring – he made sure everything ran smoothly and personally checked in to see that we were comfortable. We also want to recognize Christos, the Maitre d’Hôtel, who oversaw both restaurants with grace and professionalism. Kuddos also to Giorgos, the chef, every meal was a pleasure under his watch.
Speaking of meals, we loved the flexibility of the lunch service – being able to order from 1:00 to 6:00 PM and enjoy it either in the restaurant or in our room made planning our day around naps and adventures so much easier. The food throughout our stay was consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Local ingredients, thoughtful presentations, and a calm dining environment made each meal feel special.
Another thoughtful touch we appreciated was how the hotel provided beach umbrellas and towels whenever we wanted to explore the nearby lovely beaches, which are only a short drive away. These small touches made our outings so much more enjoyable and stress-free.
And finally, a moment that really touched our hearts: the staff surprised our daughter with a small gift, treating her with such kindness and care throughout our stay. It meant the world to us as parents to see her so happy and embraced by the Kinsterna family.
In short, Kinsterna Hotel is a rare gem – a place where luxury, history, nature, and heartfelt hospitality come together in perfect harmony. Whether you're coming as a couple, with friends, or with little ones in tow, it’s a place that nurtures you and invites you to slow down and enjoy what truly matters.

Read moreThis was the best hotel on our Peloponnese trip, and if we're ever back in the region we will head back here. Its not cheap, but I think its worthy of its 5 star rating.
Pros: Super mature grounds that is a dream for plant enthusiasts - everywhere you look is a different species. Lots of flowers, fruits, vegetables growing. Lots of free activities you can participate in! Check with them before you arrive or at the activities desk. Breakfast was amazing, everything was great, and a huge selection. The two swimming pools were the best. Very clean all the time, lots of loungers around. The best thing was that the pools were fed by natural spring water, so were 100% fresh water all the time, very little chemicals. They were super icy cold though! Separate pools for kids and adults. We stayed in a deluxe residence, and was lucky to be upgraded (do ask when booking or during check-in for upgrades!). Big rooms, great air-con, comfy bed, good showers, nespresso machine. All day casual dining menu was decent quality for the portions. Club sandwich at EUR10, while expensive for local standards, was very tasty and a good size portion. They took all covid regulations very seriously, which wasn't the case in other hotels and places in Greece, so we really appreciated that.
Cons: The all day dining restaurant was a disappointment for dinner. Their fine dining menu was short, expensive, and very small dishes. At these prices you might as well dine in the other, more upscale offerings on site. There's not much of a sea view here - it is quite distant, so not worth paying for any sea view rooms No free bottled water daily in the rooms. Was expecting this for this level of hotel. Free 30 minutes hydro spa (when you book direct) was disappointing. The only good part was the hammam steam room, so I wouldn't recommend anyone paying for this! You definitely need a car to stay here, and the road going up is not very good. If you're not dining at the hotel in the evening, its a windy, bumpy, dark drive back to the hotel. Its not walking distance to Momemvasia - so factor that in if you're not...
Read moreWe (a family of 4, kids aged 8 and 10) got back from 6 nights at Kinsterna the week before Easter. It was possibly the best hotel experience we've had as a family of 4, everything from the room (the family suite with a great view, plenty of space and storage), the food (the best buffet breakfast I've had with the daily home-made cakes, pastries, local specialties and garden produce) to the impeccable service from all the staff (tips from the lovely General Manager George and the attentiveness of the Experience Manager, also George and the barman who went out of his way to make my kids a mocktail even I would have traded my drink for), meant the experience was high quality and personalised, without being in-your-face bling, or pretentious. The Greeks just know how to be hospitable. I am a tough customer and have picked holes at a number of so-called 'luxury' resorts in the past. but Kinsterna is a rare thing. It is not flashy, its immensely understated, and whilst its not brand-shiny new (there are small aspects that could be modernised or updated), but the really important things are there in spades. Apparently the hotel was full by the time we checked-out, but we didn't feel it at all (the design and layout means its easy to find a quiet corner or terrace just to yourself, there are always plenty of staff). The free activities running that week were authentic and charming (egg-staining activity that didn't quite work and left everyone peering into the pot and researching on google, was a wholesome and perfect activity for all ages), the candle-making that my kids adored (using their own beeswax from the hives) and the donkey ride and hen-house visits and the ever so slightly old-fashioned but brilliantly designed children's play area were loved by my kids. The vibe is laid-back, friendly, and the beautiful gardens are impeccably maintained without feeling contrived or unnatural. The wild flowers and the perfume of the fruit trees everywhere left us feeling refreshed and relaxed. Thank you George and the whole team. We...
