Princess Kyniska Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Monemvasia

We stayed here for one night only and good for that, as the level of service is below 4 star hotel! We arrived at 3 pm, which was the checking time, and we're told to wait a bit until the room was ready.. we waited over 1 hour and 40 min !!! As they said, they are understaffed (in August..!), every 20 min they told us to wait for another 20 minutes and so on, us being nice and polite sitting on the side and waiting, never yelling never being rude as this is not who we are (even with a 4 yo child with us).

The staff said they would think about nice compensation for us (without us asking for it), and as the general manager Dimitris said the day after as we were checking out 5 min before the actual time set by the hotel, we are blackmailing him as it happens to wait for over one hour and it's acceptable.. even if we are with 3 kids!! He even wanted to call the police to say we are blackmailing them... no word to describe it, really. The feeling was so bad as we just wanted to have a nice time in this hotel, and after we read the other great reviews!!

He asked us why we didn't leave after waiting for so long... the hotel is remote, no other options, unfortunately, and we were traveling with another family who also waited a bit around 20 min, which is acceptable.

In the room, good size and spacious, but, one towel had long hair on it (not ours), you need to hold the shower head in your hand while showering (for the kids it's inconvenient), and the morning breakfast had tons of little fly flying from one to the other... but in general, breakfast was good and has variety (without the fly...).

Gave it 1 stars as some crew were nice and the room was spacious. Otherwise, I would give it a 0!

I'm highly disappointed! I've visited a lot of hotels in my life and never encountered such rude service to be given a treatment like that, it's for sure not a 4 stars hotel. Please think again before...

I'll start by saying that the hotel is in a beautiful location and the property itself is lovely! Pity that this is where the good news ends. The lady who runs the property runs it against a set of rules which are not aimed at ensuring that the client has a good stay and her attitude obviously reflects on the rest of the staff. On check-in you get a set of "covid" related rules which are more aimed at cost saving then on health and safety. You sign a paper allowing the maid to enter your room, you choose your breakfast selection and time for the next morning, you're informed that in the room there is nothing and given shower gel and shampoo in reception, etc, etc. Upon entering the room there isn't even a bottle of water and the bed is unmade with a sheet and the towels laying at the foot of the bed. Finally we get to know that the gym is closed due to covid and the gym is the main reason why we chose this hotel over others in the area. There is a notice on their website but I booked through a portal which until this very day still shows that the hotel has a fully operational gym. As compensation we were offered a massage but it's the gym we want not a massage so we refused. The bed and pillows are very uncomfortable and service in the breakfast room is terrible to say the least. The next day we come back from a day out at 17:15 and find that our room has not even been serviced yet. I could go and on but I think I made my point. I would not recommend staying here and will certainly not rebook this hotel for my next trip to the wonderful...
