As an extensive traveller I have used tripadvisor for many years and have relied upon reviews for various properties which until now I have felt accurate. In all these years I have never felt compelled to write a review. This is my first review as I thought it necessary to dispel the illusion that our stay at Casa Del Mar in Mykonos offers a service that is anything above poor/average at best.
My partner and I had booked the hotel for 4 nights stay as we fell in love with the pictures of the hotel and the view looked gorgeous. BUT, in our experience, it's overrated and for what it is and ruined by poor service
First of all, we weren't offered the villa or the room that was shown in the pictures, the villa we have stayed was all kind of mediocre with no style for that level of the hotel. Our villa was a seperate one from the hotel, 5 min walking distance to the hotel, most probably they sublet these villas during summer time. We were able to order food to our villa only the 1st day while we were too tired other than that we had to drive to the restaurant to eat or drink something. Cleaning staff were poorly coordinated and didn't clean the villa properly, even our left-overs weren't thrown away. But the most disappointing moment of Casa Del Mar and their poor communication happened on the 3rd day of our stay. They were going to change our villa to another which was totally fine but the cleaning staff broke into our villa without letting us know on the day at 11 am which they were supposed to let us know the check-out time day before either with a note or by a call. Then they let 2 gangsters in to threaten us to leave the villa asap, we were so shocked and furious while we didn't know all these people and home invasion in the villa that we have paid for. I would never ever recommend Casa Del Mar to anyone. Please think twice before booking...
Read moreFrom the moment we arrived at CasaDelMar, we felt like members of a small, exclusive family of luxury. The staff welcomed us with warmth and professionalism — every detail seemed carefully thought out to provide a superior experience. Our room was truly exceptional: elegant décor with discreet luxury, beds that embraced us from the very first moment, and a breathtaking sea view that changed with the light of the day. The amenities were flawless — from the spotless daily cleanliness to the small but extremely thoughtful touches, such as the quality bathroom products and the carefully selected pillows. As for the facilities, the jacuzzi offered absolute tranquility and endless moments of relaxation. Breakfast was a feast of choices — fresh, flavorful, and with a wide variety to satisfy every taste. The location is also ideal — close enough to the center, yet quiet enough to relax away from the noise of the busy tourist areas. And the highlight: the sunset view from the hotel is something we will cherish for a long time. Overall, CasaDelMar is not just a hotel — it is a luxury experience with soul. We will definitely return, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation that combines comfort, beauty, and authentic hospitality. A special thank you to Mrs. Dimitra and Mr. Odysseas for their prompt responses to our emails! Our goal is to see you again in September 2026. With appreciation, The...
Read moreMy wife and I spent two nights here as a finale to our vacation in the Greek Islands. It was an amazing ending. The staff were terrific top to bottom, and we thought the service from the front desk, dining, beach, housekeeping, and spa teams was courteous, warm, and attentive. We were given a really generous room upgrade at check-in, and loved the view from our private deck (even if we spent as much time at the beach as possible). Throughout the stay, staff were really helpful with keeping us comfortable and fed. We also appreciated the assistance with arranging transfer from the Old Port, to our flight, and in/out of the main town. ||Photos don't really do justice to how beautiful the resort's location is or how large and comfortable the villas are. Located at the southern tip of Mykonos, the hotel offers a peaceful and family-friendly oasis from the hubbub at Hora or the busier beach clubs. Even in August, you could totally forget it's high season but for the dozens of yachts passing by each day. The resort enjoys its own private beach, which is WAY less crowded than some of the others we saw traveling around the island. It also has great cover from the north and west winds. The property has fewer than a dozen villas so competition for beach chairs is pretty much nonexistent. Well worth it for family vacation or...
