We spend a lot of time on Lesvos island and Tarti is one of our favourite beaches. For several years we had planned to stay overnight. We finally got around to booking this year, to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. We went to the hotel and talked to the owner, explaining in Greek and English that we would like to book a room at the front overlooking the beach. No room at the front was available for our preferred dates, so we agreed to stay much later in the season (22nd September). Several times we said that we did not want a room at the back. We were looking forward to it so much. Sitting on a balcony, overlooking the beach, watching the sunset, and eating breakfast the next morning. We arrived on Sunday and the owner, who had been very friendly when taking our booking, scuttled off inside the hotel, leaving her son to tell us that our room was not ready and that we should come back in half an hour. We came back and the son took us upstairs and showed us the back room. We explained that we had booked a room at the front and he said someone else had booked it. No apology. We said that we were not happy and I didn’t want to stay but my husband persuaded me. The problems didn’t stop there though. The WiFi didn’t work, the shower was tepid at best, there was no light in the hall (dangerous at night with a marble staircase), very noisy plumbing from other rooms and the shutter on the east facing window was jammed open so we were woken up at sunrise.||The worst thing was the shameful behaviour of the owner who avoided us even when walking past us on the beach...

Always hot water and wall hook for the shower. Complete silence at night. Located in the middle of the beach so you need to carry your bags 150m. 2 good tavernas close by and the excellent Kantina Tarti almost next door. No WiFi and only unsecured WiFi at the cantina and tavernas. A great place to get away from it all! Would benefit from better towels which were old and very hard. 5 stars nonetheless. I would be happy to stay again. The third studio overlooks the valley and olive groves and the view is beautiful from a...
Read moreIdeal for quiet holidays. It’s at the middle of a small bay, a few steps from the seafront. You can choose between privacy or social with the hosts and neighbours. Clean. The rooms are at the first floor with a great sea view. Value for money. The whole bay is child friendly. Two decent taverns, two caffe-bars and a tiny convenience store around. Good fishing spot. It’s around one hour from the city of Mitelini or the airport and you need to find your way of travel (or arrange it with the hosts). Looking forward visiting...
