GeoMare Holiday Homes — Hotel in Municipality of Nea Propontida

This is a positive review but it is containing some remarks about the surrounding areas and suggestions for the owners of this vacationing spot.We would love to see some changes in the future as we really wish to come back. Me and my family live in Boston, USA and this past August we visited Greece for a first time in our life.We picked GeoMare Holiday Homes because of the excellent view of the sea from home 6. We had no idea what the village looks like and what kind of tourists are visiting this area.We are extremely happy with the accommodations the apartment offered and the cleanliness was 10 of 10.The sheets and towels smelled beautifully,the beds were very comfortable and kitchen was all nicely arranged with all we needed.We loved the dark window shades and the noise isolated windows this home provided.This was really important accommodation as the street outside is very busy with hundreds of cars and noisy motorcycles passing through all day long. We loved the double terrace in home 6 but there is one flow: when there is rain and especially a storm, the terrace cannot be used as there is no solid cover above it but rather a decorative kind of some plant based tubes that serve well to have a shade for the sun. Also, the shower area is extremely small and uncomfortable to use due to wrong installation of the actual shower which needs to be installed in the opposite wall. We were never able to bend over and fully wash up as the water stream was going towards the shower curtain which would create flooding in the bathroom! It took us long time to clean the water after showering so no one would slip and fall. This really needs attention. And one more suggestion: The doors that lead to the terrace need to have a screen with the net as mosquitos and bugs are really brutal in the hot climate there. I’m sure those are minor things to be upgraded. The beach in front of the resort has areas with beach chairs, umbrellas and service from the restaurant across GeoMare Homes which is amazing. But there are also beach areas just one step away that are not serviced and the sand is full of cigarette buds, plastic bottles and all kinds of waste that is laying around the beautiful sand and grass which totally pushed us away from staying around the resort during beach time. We just went to different beaches every day and traveled far so we can get away from the dirt. It is really unpleasant to wake up under the sun and the breathtaking water views and look from the terrace to see all around garbage, overflowing public garbage bins and dust. The parking in front of the main entrance was really dusty and dirty so every time we walked out of the car and entered the property yard, we had to go in the outside showers and clean our shoes. It felt like we are in a heavenly clean and beautiful house in the middle of place that trash is treated recklessly! I know the owners of GeoMare are not responsible for the surrounding area, but I recommend if there is a way for them to just clean the front of the property and eventually talk to the owners of the other two near by properties. Maybe they can reach some kind of an agreement regarding the handling of the trash laying around. We met only Penelope during our stay and we were impressed by her hospitality, good manners, excellent English and friendly attitude. She is a real business lady with style and class!I’m sure she would read this review and take a note of all the genuine remarks we’re making so her business will be even better. In fact,we have many friends that would join my family and book all the 8 apartments at the same period of time if we decided to choose this place again.Success is all about taking the necessary steps to improve all the weak areas and know that the reliable customers are those who become regulars. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and we really want to come back. Penelope, thank you for your gift bag at the end of our stay and for giving us 2 extra hours for checking out. My partner and I stayed in Studio 7 for 3 weeks in September. The pictures provided are accurate yet at the same time don’t do the space justice. It is a bright and spacious studio, with a stove and a small fridge, perfect to keep some essentials. There are 2 veranda areas with views of the sea, which is a very short walk across a quiet street. The bathroom has a toilet and European shower, small but adequate! Access to a shared washing machine, AC, and internet is available. We absolutely LOVED our stay. The hosts were available and helped out with any minor issues as well as providing great suggestions on the area. Being 40 minutes away from the busyness of Thessaloniki was great - we got to experience the city but escape to the sea! Tania provided us with a filler for the 2 twin Beds so we pushed them together and it was very comfortable. There was a small dining table and another table outside to eat with the view of the sea or to share your morning coffee. It’s Just a short drive to Nea Kallikratia which has neat shops and food, also a restaurant right next door (we didn’t eat there as we did much of our own cooking in the studio. A wonderful place for a relaxing seaside holiday!

We had the pleasure of staying at this guest house and were extremely satisfied with everything! The location is more than perfect — literally just a few steps from the beach.

The house was spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Outside, there was a cozy relaxation area. There was parking available in front of the house, and plenty of nearby restaurants to grab a bite.

The hosts were exceptionally kind, responsive, and always ready to help with anything you might need. You could truly feel the care and heart they put into this place.
