Blue Dream apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Northern Corfu

NOTE: This place is 4 km from Sidari! You will not be able to walk into town!||||We spent ten days here in August 2014, and the experience was fair. The apartments are very clean which is alway important. They come with air conditioning, a fridge, and WiFi, all of which are free of charge. We didn't use the kitchen to cook but it did have a microwave oven/hob unit with extractor fan. The air con was lovely and quiet and had a remote. The WiFi was nice but where we were, the reception was pretty poor.||||As I said the apartments were clean. The wet chamber was adequately sized for a Greek place. The swimming pool was nice and clean, although there were lots of wasps around the edges. The rooms were cleaned twice during our stay, with new linens being put on once during our stay. ||||The staff were friendly, and were happy to phone taxis, give us information regarding public transport, though bear in mind that only Dimtria speaks English, the others you may need to speak a little Greek to get your message across. There was always someone there during the day though, which brings me to the pool bar. ||||The pool bar was really disappointing. We bought some drinks which were okay, and a pizza which was okay, though it looked to be a €1.00 frozen pizza for €5.00. The actual pool bar itself doesn't have anyone behind the counter, there is just a giant TV there. It feels more like a little outhouse with a fridge in it. The food is made offsite and brought down to you, with a bit of a delay. We thought we'd spend some days by the pool drinking beer/frappes from the pool bar and enjoying club sandwiches, when in fact, we had to take a taxi to the local town to do that. ||||This brings me to the travel. These apartments are actually quite far away from Sidari. If you were to walk, it'd take you an hour at least, probably more in the heat. The roads don't really have anywhere to walk and the cars drive crazy fast round the corners so we had to take taxis. The taxis cost between €7-10, and while they arrived okay, you often had to direct them when returning. There were hourly busses but we never saw one. Not once. So the location is very remote. This can be a positive but unless you're willing to spend €30 a day for a car, it's a negative.||||When we arrived, it was about 4.30 AM. The transfer took 2 hrs 30 mins and we were so worried that we'd get there and it'd just be dark with no-one around. We told ourselves that wouldn't be the case. When we arrived, it was the case. In all fairness, it turns out they'd waited up until 1.00 AM for us, and left a sign on the pool bar for us to call, but the sign was in the dark and we didn't see it. Luckily two others guests turned up at about 5 AM and were speak English and were able to call the owners to come and let us in, after we'd paid of course.||||So, all in all, it was a lovely place, but the experience was lacking a bit. I think it's designed for people who are happy to manage themselves, and less for your couple who expect a bit of a pool bar service and walk into town.||||If you're willing to get a car or moped, it's fine,...

I'd rate this place as fair.||||My partner and I stayed here for 10 days (15th-25th Aug 2014) and found it to be pleasant, clean and welcoming.||||The owners are lovely and smiley, though only Dimitria (the young lady) speaks English.||||The pool is a good size, we estimated it at 20M long and about 3M at the deepest end with a section for small children. There were a lot of wasps and other winged beasts around it, but I have found that that can be a common occurrence abroad in hot weather! Plenty of sun-beds, so you don't have to scramble for space.||||The area is quiet other then the occasional cars/coaches going past. But even that isn't so bad as the apartments are set back away from the road. It was nice to hear the cockerel in the morning!||||The apartment we shared was clean, with fresh sheets and towels awaiting us when we arrived. We had two large towels, a foot towel and two small towels. The aircon was free, as was the TV. We didn't have a double bed, but two singles - they were quite light so you can push them together. There's cooking facilities and a fridge, though these are basic. The bathroom is a wet chamber with draining in the middle. Mosquito nets on the windows. Nicely decorated, no problems with anything. As it's self catering, I would recommend buying some water beforehand if your flight is late, as the pool bar closes at 6pm. Maid service came in twice whilst we were there.||||There's only a few things which let it down;- ||||Very small selection of drink/food at pool bar||It's quite far from Sidari village. The owners of Blue Dream are kind enough to call you a taxi, but bear in mind that the price will range from 7-10 Euros either way and getting a taxi back from Sidari may take a while as the drivers are constantly out and about picking people up from the airport! You can rent a car, but that comes in at 35Euros a day and you usually have to fill the tank up!!||*If your flight is going to late and your ETA is after 1am, ring the apartment before hand and confirm your arrival time as there wasn't anyone there when we arrived.||||Overall, we had a nice stay and would use the apartments again....

I stayed here for 4 nights through Booking.com and I really enjoyed my stay. I had a large room with two single beds, a kitchenette, standard basic bathroom, AC, a little patio outside the door. The grounds are spacious and beautiful, with a large swimming pool that is well maintained. Everyone was respectful and quiet after hours. The staff was helpful as well.

I didn't like that one morning I was woken up by an hour long cleaning session for the apartment above mine. It was only 9:00 and there was a lot of scraping (furniture being moved, mopping with a scraper). I waited too long to text the management about it and I definitely should have done that before. But just in general, cleaning at hotels always happens between checkout and check in times, that's why that time gap exists.

Also, the bathroom shower was quite uncomfortable. But at least there was a mop and a towel for cleaning up the wet floors.
