While convenient, this hotel had some maintenance issues. We were traveling with another group, they moved rooms twice before finding one with working A/C and the proper bed configuration. I will give the maintenance guy credit he responded promptly and even had the keys delivered to the room so they wouldn’t need to go down to the front desk. In our room the refrigerator wasn’t working, but they were able to supply ice at the bar, so I could keep medication cold. We went to check out the pool and sauna. The indoor pool was nice and at comfortable temperature but the sauna was off and frankly looked like another maintenance issue. At $300+ (2 room suite) a night I had a higher expectation.
Foreign visitors be prepared with adapters for the local electrical outlets. I consider this a travel necessity but two people in our group overlooked this item. This hotel does NOT have USB ports available to charge your devices in your room.
The onsite restaurant was inexpensively priced for being in a hotel. The burger was pretty good. The bar restaurant staff were very friendly and I’d recommend it. The breakfast was better than the standard Holiday Inn breakfast I’m used to. They even had a fresh orange juice pressing machine and additional Greek pastry and cheese.
If you’re using the airport shuttle make your reservation early/when you check in. Show up 15 min prior to the scheduled time ready to go. The shuttle is ON TIME. Literally all luggage onboard, everyone seated and pulling out at 8:31am for the 8:30am shuttle.
The front desk staff wasn’t as welcoming as I’ve been accustomed to. Perhaps they were new or having a bad day. What I expect is an efficient hostess who looks to make the guest’s experience welcoming not just meeting minimum needs. A smile, friendly attitude, or asking is there anything else they can do make your stay better can go a long way to make a guest feel welcome. She missed an opportunity to inquire if wanted to switch rooms or have maintenance look at the refrigerator, when I let her know I needed ice because the refrigerator wasn’t working in our room. I would declined the room swap, but would have appreciated if maintenance could see if it was an easy fix like a breaker. I will give her credit her English was 4 out of 5 (5 being a native speaker) very easy to understand. I don’t expect someone who is that fluent and easy to understand in non-English speaking country, even at a front desk.
3 stars I’d still stay there again, if there wasn’t a better option…in this case I’d revisit the possibility of staying at the...
Read moreI almost never leave a negative review. However, I would not recommend this property. The hotel, room, and restaurant were all very nice. However, the three women who che cked us in and out were icy/rude/uncaring.
We are longtime loyal IHG platinum members, and I always put a request for a room in a quiet area away from the elevator in my reservation notes. Typically, that means that if a room is available at the far end of the hall, away from the elevator, that is where they put us.
This time, we got upstairs to find that room 613 was the closest room to the elevator. I went back downstairs to ask if this was the only room available or if they could possibly move us away from the elevator. Instead of an apology for this situation, the woman gave me room 601 instead. I thought I recalled seeing that room directly across the hall from 613, and asked if this were further down the hall. She said it was. Turns out, it was across the hall from 613 as I had thought. At that point, I gave up on switching. However, when I went downstairs later, I did mention it to the two women who had made the assignments. The one who seemed to be in charge, instead of apologizing, said, "You still have a problem with the room?!" as if I were asking for something really crazy. I simply pointed out that they had not moved us further away.
The next morning, upon checkout, the third front desk worker was also very icy and unfriendly.
Thankfully we had a wonderful time in Greece prior to this and met many very kind Greek people. Had this hotel experience been our only time in Greece, I would have had a very different impression.
I filled out the survey and replied yes that I would like the manager to contact me. I got an autogenerated reply that made me feel even less valued...
Read moreThis was by far the worst experience we had checking in to a holiday inn hotel and I held them in high regard. The only reason we booked this hotel was to be close to airport, use the shuttle and then leave for our flight next day early morning-to get some sleep. Our flight had landed around 11 pm at night. There was no information on the shuttle timing pickup spots or anything like that. We asked at information center and finally reached the area for bus pickup but didn't see any shuttle for 45 mins. We kept trying to call the hotel but it kept going to voicemail. Finally after an hour, we ubered to the hotel. When I informed to the receptionist that her phone wasn't working and we struggled to figure out shuttle get to hotel, instead of empathizing, she started arguing that the phone was working and asked me to show the number I called. I showed it and she said it's the same but no idea what happened. I suggested that they should have shuttle timings on the website and location to help people like us who have to leave in 4 hours, she argued further to say that its all on the website and i didn't find it. I asked her to show me where but no response. If you're in a hurry and are tired, I would recommend staying at the airport lounge as this hotel is neither cheap nor accessible with a very rude staff. Also, you may end up paying for commute to the hotel, so might as well stay somewhere else. We ended up leaving in 5 hours, so there's nothing fancy here, also the drive is about 15 minutes, so if it's odd hours, you can get closer to the city too if you've to pay to commute. Hope this helps someone who is stranded at the airport or has short...
