Helena's Aparthotel — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

Great service from the hosts of the facility - rating 11 / 10! We were greeted with small gifts and a refrigerator full of fruits (grape, watermelon, melon, peaches) + raki %) One day the owners brought a huge pan of delicious homemade moussaka When we informed in the evening that the oven it does not work, the next morning there was a new cooker next to the door and replaced when we were resting on the beach :)

Inside the apartment: very spacious. two large sofas, 3 tables + 10 chairs air conditioning in each room, individual control two large terraces with tables, armchairs and chairs balcony in each bedroom fully equipped spacious kitchen with a dishwasher, big refrigerator soundproofed rooms - you shouldn't hear other guests children's chair and a baby cot

Outside apartment: Helena's aparthotel has 6 apartments (two on each floor) very nice swimming pool - perfect for all-day swimming, good for children (130 cm deep) + smaller (50-60 cm deep) clean, lots of sunbeds, umbrellas, quiet spacious barbecue area with coal and fire starters sunset view from the terrance/balcony you can park your car on the street in front of the apartment without any worries (very little local traffic)

Surroundings: when choosing this apartment, you need to be aware of where it is located in Crete and it is not next to the sea. you definitely need a car to go to other places if you want to visit Balos / Elafonisi, remember that it will take a long time trip to these places (2.5h one way) our recommendation: bakery in Stavromenos (great fresh bread from 7am) 3km from the apartment

We had a fantastic vacation time summer 2022, thanks to superhost Helena and her family. Helena and her team were available to us 24/7 when needed and cleared potential upcoming problems immediately. The area is rather quiet so ideal for families that need relaxation. The village Skaleta is small and no party place. Distance to Rethymno city about 15min drive by car but you can buy products for daily need at small shops in walking distance. If you need a rental car, they can support you with. Also offered us airport transfer. We found two taverna that survived the COVID years with great food, both located directly at the beach.

Room was tidy, very spacious and direct access to the pool area via our balcony. This is not a hotel but Appartments for self-care. Nevertheless, Helena offers breakfast to her guest that you can choose of the menu of a local coffee shop with delivery just in time. Another great advantage of her place.

The hotel is very run down, it looks like no one cleans it. Dusty cabinets, dirty mirrors, dirty bathtub. There is very little equipment in the kitchen, there are no basic cleaning products. When you take a shower, all the water spills into the bathroom because the shower door was incorrectly installed and the toilet flap was also broken. There are leaves and various insects floating in the pool. The hotel is located on a hill, remember this if you want to walk to the beach. The nearest beach is very average, there are two small shops nearby.

It would be enough to clean it well and my rating would be completely different, but unfortunately if someone doesn't even clean it before the guests arrive, it cannot be...
