Disappointing Experience – Promises Not Kept

We stayed at this hotel with a group of 45 people. The property offers plenty of space, a nice pool area, and some sports options like billiards, table football, and ping pong. Cleanliness was also very good and appreciated by everyone.

However, there are some serious downsides to be aware of before booking as a group:

The air conditioning was only turned on at certain times and never cooled below ~30°C, even though we were told it would work if windows stayed closed. Sleeping was nearly impossible due to the heat, and the owner's only advice was to open the windows — contradicting his own rules.

On the last two days, the owner locked the pool and kitchen area without prior warning, claiming our group caused too much mess — which had never been mentioned as a condition, especially not at the time of booking. For a place marketed toward large groups, this reaction felt unjustified. Despite having a good time overall, we would not have booked this hotel had we known these issues in advance. We recently spent a seminar week at Bonaventure Villa with our students, and it turned out to be an excellent choice for such an event.

The villa is located about a 30-minute walk from the sea and is surrounded by olive trees and plenty of greenery, which gives it a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. There is a swimming pool for leisure, as well as a charming church on site, often used for weddings. A large, well-equipped kitchen is available, allowing guests to prepare their own meals, which we found very convenient for a group stay. What truly made our experience special was the hospitality of the owner. Warm-hearted and always ready to help, he supported us with transportation and organization throughout our stay, making everything run smoothly. Overall, Bonaventure Villa is a welcoming and tranquil place, ideal not only for seminars and group activities but also for families, celebrations, or anyone looking for a green and quiet retreat...

I can not recommend this Villa hire enough. My partner and i along with 31 of our closest friends and family stayed for a week in Sept 2020. The space was perfect, the grounds we safe, secure and modernised compared to what we saw the villa website. What made our stay amazing was the Villa owners Ana and Nicholas who went above and beyond to ensure every request and expectation was delivered.

We stayed for a week, had meals cooked for us and our guests each night, a sight seeing trip around Athens, a day at a private beach where we were served as we sunbathed, a private boat hire where we swam in the open ocean and visited the caves. All of which was organised and handled by our villa hosts at an amazing price. We got a week of perfect memories in the sun for the average price of a one day UK wedding.
