We needed a hotel in Athens for two nights for the end of our trip. I wanted something close to the airport and did a seach. Peri's Hotel came up and after looking at some reviews and the price, I was sold. The communication with the hotel about our needs via Expedia (arrival, time we'd need to leave for the airport) was smooth. What I didn't appreciate is a dirty room. Upon arrival the room appeared decent, however after we started to get settled we noticed issues - dead cockroaches under the bed as well as dust that appeared to not have been swept, lights in the room didn't work, the mini fridge smelled a bit, they offered a mini stove you could cook something but no pot/pan (they did have some cutlery/plates), there also wasn't any soap to wash these items if you needed. The washroom was small (no big deal) and the shower was really difficult to navigate. There was plenty of dust everywhere as well. I instructed the family to not leave any suitcase open as to not have any small critter make their way into our bags. When we woke up the next day, we found a couple more cockroaches in the room. Yikes. As we were leaving to go sightseeing, we went to the front desk to inquire about directions to the nearest bus stop. No one was there, and we ended up trying to communicate with the friendly lady that served us our breakfast for assistance, but couldn't get anywhere as she didn't speak English. The only thing I understood was that someone would be there at 10:30am, but we didn't want to wait that long so off we went. Came back later in the evening to be greeted by more smaller size coakroaches and the room not being cleaned. Later in the evening as we headed back inside to go to sleep as we were getting up early the next day, there was a large cockroach running around and under the beds. We tried killing it and even getting it out of the room with no luck, went to the front desk and we found someone there, we told him the issue, and he nonchalantly gave me a towel to kill it! He even said I could throw the towel out once finished. For breakfast, there are no choices: you tell the lady that's serving which room you're from, and then you're sitter at a table as hard boiled eggs are waiting for you, and then the lady comes over and asks what you'd like to drink, and after you're served plain yogurt, and an assortment of bread/cake slices and cheese, just enough to serve your party. We did not eat on the second day. After arriving back home, I started looking for reviews about the hotel once more. It has over 4 stars rating, and I've seen others posting about the no cleanliness, cockroaches and what not. So I don't know if it's just the rooms that are on the ground floor that have these issues, or it even extends to the other rooms on the top floors. The people we encountered are friendly enough, the location is good and quiet, you don't really notice the noise from the planes even though the airport is close (it's cool watching them fly over). It's about an hour by bus to go to into central Athens and do your sightseeing (we took bus 304), we didn't pay as the driver didn't sell tickets and didn't take cash (we did pay once we got to the subway station to continue our travel downtown), the driver was playing some awesome music that I gave him props for 🤟 We will not be staying at this establishment in the future - I had enough of the cockroaches and no...
Read moreSTAY AWAY!||Our checked in the hotel on August 16 at 9:00pm local time and we checked out on August 17 at 11:30am. We waited at the airport for almost an hour after we called them to pick us up and the night shift person who was (supposed to be at the hotel!) picked us up with a bit of an attitude. ||||When we arrived at the hotel we checked in to that same person who took super to the hotel and we were given the key to our room and where we dropped our things off in our room and locked the door. We were staying in room number 4 on the main floor. We then left with a shuttle the hotel arranged to take us to the Arhontikon restaurant. We returned to the hotel at 12:00 AM with the shuttle arranged by the hotel. We also had breakfast at the hotel from 9:40 AM until about 10:15 AM on August 17. These were the times our luggage was not in our presence. We arrived back home in New Jersey on August 17 at night , so I was too tired and went to bed. I unpacked my backpack on August 18 in the morning and noticed some of my jewelry and cash was missing. ||||The missing cash about $120 US dollars. I am attaching pictures of the missing jewelry (a bracelet with 4 gold English coins and a pendant with one gold English coin with a gold chain) which was a family heirloom and we often wear during celebrations from where we are from. ||The hotel has no safe and the only people who have access are the hotel staff. They knew how much time we are going to be away and had time to do navigate and take the jewelry as they were the ones who arranged the shuttles to the restaurant and back. Nothings in my back pack looked suspicious when we got to the room because they had time to put things back where they were. ||Also they knew we had little kids and we would want to focus on putting them to bed etc. When I spoke to the owner he first denied it happened claiming that he trusted his employees. He said that the only person from staff that was there was the night shift but that was not true as there was another guy who was rushing us out to the shuttle for the restaurant. When we came back nobody was at the reception. ||They claim not to have security cameras, as this conveniences their theft scam! How is it possible to not have cameras in 2025, especially when the employees are not in their positions? ||My family and I have repeatedly been calling and asking for the jewelry back and they are refusing it was them saying that this has never happened before and that the other people the last month who have claimed similar things are crazy. ||I will be taking legal action against them as this is unacceptable and the jewelry are...

We spent one night at Peri's so we would be near the airport for an early morning flight. We have never been taken such good care of!
First of all, the communication was quick and clear, with very specific instructions on where to meet the driver to take us to the hotel. We then asked if we could leave a suitcase at the hotel before we took a short trip to Milos. This request was happily granted.
Then we asked if we could have some of our lost luggage delivered from the airport and held there until arrived. Another yes.
When we finally arrived for our stay, we were picked up promptly. We asked for dinner recommendations, and Mr. Theodore made us reservations at a place on the sea, called us two cars to shuttle our group to/from - a free service provided for Peri's hotel guests by the restaurant.
While sitting in the lobby, I observed the guy at the desk:
-helping someone find and recover a lost cell phone. -helping a family understand the menu, then ordering them pizza. -the making of at five different arrangements for people to be taken to the airport, some leaving at 2:30 am.
The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. Our room slept four - one queen and two small twin beds. Good WiFi and air conditioner. There was also a stovetop, refrigerator, and coffee service. The hotel is located in a non-tourist area - a neighborhood.
Truly Peri's defines service! It was the perfect place for us...
