Tinos Ecolodge — Hotel in Municipality of Tinos

I’m absolutely outraged by the response my best friend received when he offered to volunteer at Tinos Ecolodge. A kind, eco-conscious person simply wanted to help , and was denied solely because he is Israeli.

Instead of being treated with the values that eco-tourism should stand for , inclusion, peace, sustainability , he was blamed for an entire geopolitical conflict he has no control over. He was spoken to not as a human being, but as a passport.

This is nothing but blatant discrimination, and it’s deeply antisemitic. No one should be judged based on their nationality, especially by an organization that claims to stand for compassion and environmental justice. You cannot preach peace while practicing exclusion and hate.

This place clearly lacks the most basic principles of humanity. If you think this is “activism,” you’ve lost the plot. It’s hypocrisy, plain and simple.

Beautiful farmstay with ambitious ecological concept and very friendly owners - We very much enjoyed staying at Tinos Ecolodge, seeing sunrise from our window and enjoying eating at our terrace watching the landscape and Mykonos from far away. The stable had everything that we needed, was super clean and was set up with a lot of effort keeping the stone house original details. The house has its own system of rainwater collection and filtration of waste water - very ambitious eco-concept. I came to this place with the intention to volunteer, to give, and to connect.

Instead, Marilia judged me the moment she heard where I’m from. That’s not critical thinking it’s antisemitism. Reducing someone to a nationality and blaming them by default is the same mindset that once fueled Nazi Germany.

We must be vigilant. Not every Russian is a killer because of Putin’s war. Not every American is a war criminal because of Iraq. Not every Chinese citizen supports oppression in Xinjiang. And not every Israeli is complicit in their government’s actions or “necessities”. The world is complex. Truth demands study....
