A long awaited girls trip and we chose this hotel as it was small and far from the tourist areas. Upon arrival we noticed that it looked worn and although not unclean the bar area was very untidy and so did not feel clean. ||||We arrived at 7.30pm and after a very long day travelling were shown our rooms, they were huge and clean but was very dated and had a lot of dark furniture which made the whole room feel dark than it should. ||||Dropping our bags we headed straight over to the buffet and boy was the food dismal and not one dish was hot, everything was lukewarm. We all opted for the salad station which was good, but you cannot go wrong with salad. ||||The sunset was stunning though!!||||The following morning the breakfast was equally poor cheap produce, frankfurter style sausages, bacon that had barely been cooked. We had specially asked about GF options prior to our visit and were assured that we only needed to ask the chef. When we did he was clearly not prepared but we finely received some small stone like microscopic rolls that were clearly frozen and then warmed because the middles were still dough like and cold.||||The first trip was to the local Lidl for rice cakes and back ups. ||||We ate out as much as we could. For the breakfast we stayed with bread/meats and cheeses and the odd fried egg (offered twice during our stay) Lunches we always just had salads and if we did stay for dinner it was mainly for the salad. We would generally have a lift the lid and see policy. I do not want to completely annihilate them because the staff do try. In my opinion, they needed more attention to details, using better produce and making the hot dishes hot.||||The pool isn't huge but is fine, what is a shame is the early morning rush to get towel on the inferior number of sunbed and what was completely annoying were the bed left unused but claimed by a towel all day whilst some guests went off on excursions. ||||I believe the hotel should stop this based on the limited number of beds and smaller size. If we went off for the bed we wouldn't claim a bed, that just feel selfish! However there are plenty of beach bars down the road that had sunbeds and after a drink or a light lunch do not pester you to get more.||||The drinks were okay but what made this hotel great was it's amazing staff and in particular I would give a shout out to Giannis, George, Tai and Polina.||||TOP TIP if you have a car you must visit Voidakilla Beach!||||TOP TIP if in a garden room across from the shop be aware that the house had two dogs that bark every time something passes and this can start early in the morning and go on later...
Read moreI really don’t know how this hotel has 4 stars and for what exactly? My plan was to stay 7 days and I left after 2 days (until to find something else to leave) I have my doubts about cleaning. The bathroom was very old, the sink had black long hairs from the previous guests (I have blond hair) the bathtub was full with mold (should be suspicious why they don’t have even one photo from the bathrooms in their site) the small kitchen in the room also with mold. I have my doubts if the bedlinen were changed from the previous guests. The cupboard had a terrible smell, we couldn’t placed our clothes there. The breakfast was very poor. You couldn’t stay in the pool (no shadow at all). In the small fridge I found 1 small bottle of water from the previous guests. I don’t discuss about sleepers or bathrobes like every 4* hotel usually provides. They didn’t have even a glass to drink water. If you wanted something you had to ask for it. 4* hotels provide specific services to the customers, I didn’t find even one. The only positive was the employees were working there were very kind. The price was good, but at the end very expensive for NOTHING. This hotel was 4* perhaps...
Read moreExceptional breakfast and warm staff!
Rooms were clean, had a complete bathroom, ceilings were high and therefore the room could “breathe”. Beds were comfortable, linen white-clean, soaps natural and not inside small plastic bottles. A Polish group was staying at the same time and it was really a happy place overall :)
Minor nitpicks: the constant dripping of the small fountain from the balcony’s side (it overcame the sea sound and quickly became too-present, even at night, personally), the slight used-water smell (depending on wind direction) from the bathroom, the hard to operate mosquito nets (came in our face almost once) and the real lack of wi-fi inside the room (zero signal) as well as quite poor speed of internet (when sitting on the balcony). Lastly maybe the music in the morning on the pool side when taking breakfast was a tad too loud, but that’s maybe just a personal preference and I understand others might feel different. :)
Nevertheless, the warmth of the hospitality, the cleanliness of the resort as a whole, the care and attention to the quality of the breakfast really stood...
