Manthos Sea View — Hotel in Municipality of Troizinia - Methana

We visited almost 5 years ago and decided to come again as the view is amazing. There has been absolutely nothing done to this already basic accommodation in terms of upkeep. From the moment we arrived and could not open the door without a full force push or kick, we should have realised the rest of the apartment would not live up to basic standards (I'd like to add that the owner raised his voice at us not to bang his doors and we had to point out the broken door to him and he did fix this). ||||To go through the list of problems would take too long so I will provide highlights as well as images. ||||The kitchen light hung precariously low with a single cable tie (see pic). Basic furniture saw its day about a decade (or more!) ago - knobs on wardrobes fell off each time we opened them; chairs broken; fridge/freezer was useless as it was iced over and unable to close; the cheap toilet roll holder was glued together (see pic), the baby cot was broken and stood at a slant; the shower rail fell down each time we had a shower; toilet seat broken completely; the 'utensils' in the kitchen were not sufficient to even make a cup of coffee, let alone a meal!||We stayed 6 nights and were not given ONE toilet roll replacement, not one. No one came to provide clean sheets or towels in 7 days. Plates and kitchen utensils were in diabolical state - stained, chipped and broken.||||What topped off this disappointing stay was that the owner, who obviously has no respect for his customers as he does not upkeep anything whatsoever, had the gall to shout at us to turn off our air conditioner at 9 am and also shouted down at us when one of the children acted up during siesta quiet time. He did not provide a receipt and it angers me that he puts not one penny back into the apartments. ||||Unfortunately we will not return again. The view is stunning but if you travel a few meters down the road you will come to a resort which is stunning and where we spent all of our time. We arrived there after a long and tiring day visiting places. 4th Jan. According to the pictures everyone can see in Booking and here we thought it'd be a nice place to rest not very expensive. Maybe in summer it is but what we found is a very creepy place. A woman that coundn't speak a word in english offered us a room. It was dirty, specially the kitchen, very old and creepy. You can check the pictures I posted. AC wasn't giving any warmth so it was very cold place. At the door it was smelling like cat pee. (and I love cats!) The whole area around the apartment was looking like abandoned and half destroyed after an storm dropped so many stones on the road in front of the property. I had no greek sim to call and ask for the money back, my bad. I couldn't find the woman after...

Unfortunately after our second visit we won't be returning. Place is literally falling apart. Broken door, broken fridge, broken wardrobe, broken toilet, broken shower, broken lights. I am not kidding - all of these essential items were in such a bad state and could not function. Sad, as it is such a beautiful spot.
