Orfeas Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Western Lesvos

We have been here in sept/octobre 2018, 2019 and 2022. Always welcomed by the formeren owners Lefteris & Olga, with great hospitally, very good food and warm feelings. This time, we arrived on Sept. 25 around 9 in the Evening (very dark already) no lights to guide us to the Entrance/Reception; happily we know the way, a new Lady (Maria) welcomed us, gave us the key to our bungalow (we know the way) , we were hungry (after a travel of 8,5 hours from NL) but there was nothing to serve " Maria could make us a sandwich...." We called for a taxi and drove off to diner at our favoriete resto downtown. To make sure " can we please have breakfast tomorrow morning" . Next day, Maria told us that there was breakfast server, but after 12:00 no service available anymore: no receptiondesk , no drinks/snacks @the Pool, no diner in the evening 🫣 She will clean the bungalow this wednesday, than had to leave the premisses and will return Monday, Oct 2nd, because Orfeas will close for the Season. If there was some trouble or we had any questions, she would try to answer/help untill that Wednesday Sorry, long story, 😥so sad to see how Orfeas' name & reputation is cracken down by the 'new management and/or owners whom we never saw . I spent one week here on a solo holiday and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. My room with a sea view was wonderful – waking up to the view every morning felt like a dream.||The food is outstanding, easily 10/10. Breakfast, in particular, was the highlight of my day with plenty of variety and quality that never disappointed.||What really makes this hotel stand out is the staff. They are genuinely caring, always helpful, and create such a welcoming atmosphere. You can tell that guests are truly looked after here.||The pool area is lovely as well, with plenty of space to relax and unwind.||Overall, I had an over-the-top fantastic stay and can highly recommend this hotel to anyone, whether traveling solo or with others. Great little house we got for the price! The location is okay, you just need to do this awful rock-climby pessanger path that Google recommends (see photo, takes 15mins to the city center). You can also walk around on the road, but that takes longer. The room was clean and got cleaned often, only was our main lamp broken sadly and it looked like they tried to fix it but it still didn't work the during our vacation, but that's okay!
