We had hoped to stay in Kavala but everywhere was booked up and we found "Pravi" hotel could accommodate us for four nights. It is about half an hour on the bus which costs €2 into Kavala. We had got the bus from Thessaloniki to Kavala, and had we known we were to stay here, could have got off at the bus terminal in Eleftheroupoli - which we used for our return trip, saving us having to go back to Kavala. The bus terminal is about ten minutes walk along the road, and the local bus into Kavala stops right outside the hotel.||The hotel was newly decorated and had no sign outside it, but luckily our taxi man on the way out was able to locate it.||We were greeted by the owner and brought to the bar for a welcome drink as the room was not ready. Lovely big pool, with a smaller children's pool and all around the pool were loungers and tables and chairs. The evening we arrived there was a charity function being held on the far side of the pool, so we were lucky that we had music and saw the dancing from our poolside table.||Our room overlooked the pool and had a balcony with table and chairs. The room was quite large and had two beds, a wardrobe, dressing table, bedside lockers and a safe. The bathroom had a shower over the bath. Toiletries were provided. The place was very clean. Clean towels were changed daily.||There was limited variety of food at the pool bar and the first night we had grilled chicken with salad and chips - huge helping - and very tasty. The wine we had was €6 a glass, or €24 for the bottle. ||Breakfast was a buffet spread by the pool with cereals, fruit, yogurt, cucumber, olives, cheese, meats, and savoury pastries. There were croissants with chocolate and cake. To drink there was juices, coffee from an urn, and hot water for teas.||One served oneself and the staff were at the bar should anything run out. Staff were very friendly.||We tried several snack bars in the town for an alternative evening meal, but there were no restaurants. One evening we had a pizza and a crepe at the Creperie which cost €3.90 for two persons! Eating out was burgers and chips and pizza which we didn't want - a healthier option we could not find!||We had a look around the town and one day there was a market there.||There was always music playing in the bar. The staff were very nice and helpful.||This is a good place to relax, there is not that much going on. The bus into Kavala did not come one time and we had to wait over an hour for...
Read moreThis is our second year in a row at Pravi Hotel and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. I will start with the objective points that interests most people, then address more subjective ones. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty, with great variety. The rooms are cleaned daily. Due to its slightly remote location, there is no city noise to disturb you, but it is close enough to different beaches and cities so that there is a wide range of activities at your disposal (Ammolofoi beach, Nea Peramos, Kavala, etc.). The rooms themselves are spacious enough and equipped with A/C for the hot summer days in Greece. There is also a mini fridge for you to store some water and food for a late night snack.
Now onto our subjective point of view. The true gems of this hotel are the staff there. Every person is joyful and friendly. Among them, the star is Sakis, the manager. He is a great guy with a friendly personality and always willing to help. If you wish to know which tavern/beach/city to choose or which to avoid, always ask him for recommendations, he never disappoints. He will help you to the best of his capabilities, beyond what a normal manager would do for you, we believe. Letting us store food in their freezer or offering to guide us to a location we couldn't find are just a few examples. Also, you must try his Freddo Cappuccino. We have tried various locations and it wouldn't be an understatement to say his was the best out of all of them. Overall, it was an extremely pleasant experience and it is almost certain that we will come once more next year (and perhaps many years to come...
Read moreBeing on my way to Kavala for the second time, I chose the accommodation at H. Pravi in Eleftheropolis, 25 minutes from the center of Kavala and 20 minutes from the famous Ammolofoi beach. Upon entering the hotel, I felt the pleasant atmosphere, the background music, the most effective medicine, and the biggest asset of the hotel thanks to the manager who stands out. What did cam.205 offer me? Brightness, impeccable cleanliness, individually functional AC, refrigerator, TV., comfortable mattresses, furniture in perfect condition, loyal and reliable staff (money was on the bedside table and luggage unpacked). Score 11 for this. Everything flawless! Extremely varied breakfast. I don't think it could be more. Absolutely anything. A lot! Delicious! Everything was completed quickly when an assortment was finished and at the same time it was as if the dishes had a different taste to them. And the people...the Greeks have their own style of making you feel welcome. A big plus is the spacious and free parking. I enjoyed every moment I spent with wonderful people because these people gave me the energy I needed for a few months... Fredo Cappuccino!!! I appreciated Sakis! Addiction is serious!😍😄 Drawing a line and bringing the assets presented, I conclude with an invitation addressed to those who did not have accommodation at H. Pravi on the way to other destinations or staying in the area: Stop! Because it deserves 10! I'm looking forward to next year's vacation..., because H. Pravi remains my first love and Kavala the...
