“We are pure…” with these laconic words, Thula said us that there was no wi-fi in all their trendy and overprized structure. Neither a kettle in our room for a tea or a tisane, but not even a glass over that for the toothbrushes in the small bathroom, or a bottle of water in the fridge, just to say us “hello” or to say good bye and tell us that the ferry we had to take had been cancelled. We found it really impolite and we were confused by a little contradiction: in the clean colonial-style room without wi-fi, a glass or a kettle, there was an electrical continuity group and, of course, a TV. Anyway, “less is more” was a real style of making, living, thinking, feeling, and so on, and it was for and from the sophisticated taste and elegance. It was “snob”, just the opposite of “snobbish”, which is only will to appear better than you really are and to modell yourselves on the social value and perception of a style. For Pantelis Marathi Island Resort, the reference style is the yacht-world style, with littles dogs walking on the white sand and a few of crying babies with babysitters, and an (overprized) international meal and music. In summa, we dislike this not so much Greek ambiance. But just a few minutes before, two excellent, very genuine and inexpensive tavernas, with simple delightful rooms; in others words: pure for real!
