Just got back from a weeks stay through JET2 UK. Arrived at hotel 11pm to a warm welcome from reception staff. We had missed dinner but they had put aside some food for us which I found a very nice touch. We were told details about breakfast and dinner times and made our way to the room which was a deluxe family room. The room was extremely clean and tidy but very hot on arrival. Obviously because air con hadn’t been on. The only problem was, it took hours to cool down once on and didn’t get below 26 degrees. I called reception the next day and they did get someone to clean filter out and the temp did improve. A BIG negative was the glass shower cubicle next to the double bed. It had zero privacy and both my 17 and 13 year old daughters were a little mortified. This set up would work with a young family but not with teenagers or friends. Extremely bad design idea. Food Hall: The food hall isn’t the biggest but as long as you avoid the busier later times it’s acceptable. Like any half board you always get maniacs piling the food on at the buffet and you will always bump into someone at some point. The food itself is probably more a 3+ star in terms of selection and quality. However it was adequate and the fruit and veg were mostly very fresh. The dinner menu was always better than the breakfast. The beach bar and pool bar served much better quality food for lunch but obviously this isn’t part of the package. Drinks are a little expensive particularly the cocktails. For the price I’d expect fresh fruit juice but all seemed to be from a carton. Service can also be a little slow for drinks. The beach is a 1 minute walk and is made up of small Stones and sand. If you want golden sands this might not be the beach for you. I think the beach could have been cleaner as there was a bit of rubbish about on occasion. A big plus was there being plenty of loungers available. Never had any issues getting some, they are also free including umbrella. The sea has some rocks and a lot of seaweed (on bottom)but water is lovely and clear and warm. Snorkelling is great and plenty of small fish to see. Can get a little choppy later on in day. The pool area of hotel is very well maintained and again there are always plenty of loungers available. food and drink is available to buy all day or there is a supermarket around the pool area for snacks. Water is cheaper in there. Beach towels are available for a refundable €10 each. I found the entertainment during the day non existent. There were no games or events in the pool that I witnessed. There is no jumping or diving allowed into the pool and this is policed by the life guard very stringently, much to the disappointment of younger children. The location of the hotel is quite remote and there isn’t anything in walking distance. Unless you hire a car or want to get taxis you are stuck. Evening entertainment is pretty dull. They have the same kids songs for the mini disco and the adult entertainment later on consists of average singers. (Apart from Elvis who was good) One evening they did have authentic Greek dancers which was fun as they got the guests up and involved. I feel the hotel suits younger families as there isn’t anything for older teenagers to do, except play on the one table tennis table, but only during the day as there is no lighting in the evening. My advice would be to get rid of the gym (which nobody uses) and replace with some pool tables. A tip for the evening is to wear insect repellent as the mosquitoes come out in force and eat you alive in the bar area. The hotel provide shower facilities after check out time if you have a night flight and also a secure luggage room so you can relax on your last day. The hotel is mostly popular with Romanian, Serbian, Bulgarian, German guests. Overall I feel this is a lovely hotel and very well maintained. Staff are polite and really hard working. However in my opinion I feel it is a 3+ hotel. This is mainly because of the food selection, beach cleanliness and a very poor shower cubicle design. As much as I enjoyed my holiday I unfortunately wouldn’t book again. I have stayed at nicer located hotels for...
Read moreI would not return to this hotel We spent 9 days out of 20 days in Greece here and it was one disappointment and nuisance after another from the moment we arrived. Here's a short list: the ground-floor rooms smell like mold. I had a headache the whole time until we were given another room, which had windows and did not smell like mold. Ask for a room with windows. The buffet dining area is a small, depressing, corporate-looking cafeteria. I don't know who thought of the depressing color scheme and design in such a beautiful natural area. The cafeteria managers like to micro-manage and police you, which is really off-putting and uncomfortable. After breakfast we wanted to take some fruit with us to the beach and were stopped (!) at the door and told we could not take the fruit. I said I'm not a big breakfast person and only have coffee in the morning and would like fruit for a bit later. I was told I could only take one or two pieces of fruit and to choose which ones I wanted while the manager stood there watching me. It was the most stingy, cringey thing I've ever experienced at a resort, and I've stayed at many all over the world. I promptly complained to the director who apologized and said she regretted the way this was handled and that I can take fruit out of the cafeteria in the mornings. On another occasion, we were sitting in the outdoor bar having some beverages and socializing (there were several occupied tables) when, all of a sudden the lights went out and we were sitting in darkness- no warning, no final call, nothing, just, closing time and get the f*ck out, basically, which we did. It was so rude and unwelcoming. Oh, and if you have a problem with your room, such as we did when a cicada ended up in our ceiling vent and chirped loudly and incessantly all night, the hotel acts like it's the victim because they don't know what to do and, "it's nature and they can't control it." Fortunately, we were finally given another room for the night however, it took close an hour, the room smelled like mold and the reception guy was so annoyed and condescending as if it was our fault a cicada got in our ceiling vent. This hotel acts like they're doing you a favor. The next morning after breakfast, we were told we would not be able to use our room for two hours while they dealt with the matter of the cicada. When I said that this was a huge inconvenience since all our stuff is in there, including our passports in the safe etc., and that I wanted to make sure our room was not being fumigated as I will not sleep in any kind of fumes, they just had no answer and no solution for me, until, Maria, the director / head manager got us another room to move to. Why the front-desk employees couldn't do this from the start is just bizarre. I will say that Maria was professional and attentive, which we appreciated. She gave us a certificate for complimentary lunch at the beach restaurant and a complimentary spa service for me. I do not fault the other employees. They just need better training. Finally, I must add, that the dinner buffet is lackluster and uninspired. Greek food is amazing and this place could do much better. I found many of the dishes flavorless and oily. The music in the cafeteria is also just awful- something like wanna-be hip elevator music. Ugh. Just play beautiful Greek music. Why would I want to hear generic, corporate background elevator music on my Greek seaside vacation? This was...
Read morePayed for half board and didnt even get drinks during dinner which we had to pay extra for (soft drinkes were somewhere around 4-5 euros and a big watter bottle was 3 euros) Morning breakfasts were very plain and the same always with a very minor change in a single item and sometimes unhygienic, the same person making the omlets would sneeze on their gloves, not change them and keep making food even after touching their face. Lunch is what we resorted to buying if we were hungry, the items on the menus of the nearby restaurant are decent, of course pricey which a normal sandwich with potatoes or a burger would cost around 13-14 euros (the cheapest thing being a ham toast that had cheese and fries and was 5 euros) Dinners were nicer but they always lacked something that stood out, food was also not labeled (some of them) and we did have times where we were doubting on what we were eating. Dessert were all disappointing and were so basic, same type of dessert just made a bit differently coated with sugar and almost all of them had vanilla filling. They also didnt shy away from putting things on display that may have been from a day ago, bread, sweets or something else The staff is mostly welcoming except one of the waiters which was rude The pool is nice but can we overcrowded with families and children The gym is nice and equipped with a multifunctional smith machine The beaches weren't as what we were expecting of a greek beach, it wasn't clear water and was overruned by algie. The beach also had a lot of people which sometimes felt very occupied and small spaced, also was a bit far away from the resort The market was a place that we frequently went to and it was a decent one where there are cheaper watter bottles (50 cents), cool drinks and snacks. The shows were just ok and the performing staff did what they could to keep kids entertained. No one here respects the rules, people leave towels to occupy chairs on the beach which was against the rules of the beach/resort and the staff never did anything about that. The only thing that was nice about this whole experience would be the nature, beach bar that had a nice view and the gym. Would I come back here for another vacation or recommend it to someone else? No. If you are looking for a more quiet place, more food varieties that have drinks included in the payment with good desserts and somewhere where it isnt packed with children and people or have to wait in line so you could dine in, this place isn't for you. Definitely not worth the money and you'd be better off to...
