We chose this hotel as a base to explore the Nekromanteion, the Acheron, Parga, Nikopolis and the fantastic beaches nearby. It is run by a three-generation family, very charming, with comfortable rooms, and very close to the beach. You find everything you need here and something more. Let's go into the details.||||Location: Lygia is a tiny village, that consists of nothing but a church, a fishing port, a few houses, several restaurants and two or three small hotels. A very quiet location, no comparison to noisy mass-tourism places like Parga. The hotel is 60 metres from the beach which is, on the dry part, sandy, but mostly rocky once you get into the water. However, you find places where you can walk into the water on pure sand. The water is very good for snorkeling - plenty of fish, many species, especially the brightly coloured ornate wrasse (Thalassoma pavo). The beach is good enough for a swim in the morning or in the afternoon, but if you want some really fantastic beaches, you find them in a few kilometres driving distance. The most beautiful beach IMO is Alonaki Fanariou, 15km from the hotel on the way to/from the Nekromanteion. Really breathtaking!||||Rooms: They have several types of rooms, depending on the view, the size of the room and the amenities. The sea view on the side of the building is good enough, since you have an unobstructed view across the coast to the south. We loved our room with a pantry that had a small but nice modernised bathroom. A/C was working well, with a silent night function.||||Public areas: The two hotel buildings are grouped around the central pool and bar area, which is also kind of a living room for the owner's family. A nice place to meet and have drink.||||Food & drink: They serve breakfast (7€), which is on the level of a three star hotel and good enough. They stopped operating their restaurant but there are two recommendable restaurants 200 metres away, one at the port, the other (and better and less expensive one) on the road, near the church. What we really loved, was their bar. They serve Mythos draught beer in ice-cold glasses, for a very fair price. We also loved to take a carafe of wine at night to the beach and sip our drinks at the waterfront.||||Services: In addition to the towels on the room, you get beach towels and, if you wish, an umbrella for the beach. No sunbeds (there are sunbed of the other hotel, named Dimitra). Free parking.||||In sum, we thoroughly enjoyed or stay at Mesogeios 2000 and would recommend it to...
Read moreAll by all the place is recommended. It's a nice family hotel in a small simple beach village. The family members are nice and helpful. Breakfast is very modest, no vegetables expect tomatoes. Rooms are clean and nice. Very few electricity sockets in the room. Few things to bare in mind: You should have a car to move around, the nearest 2 minutes beach is rocky and if you want sandy beach you should either walk ten minutes or drive. The pool closes at noon for a lot of time (14:00-17:30). One major issue I have to mention: My brother in law slipped on the stairs near the pool with his 3 years old child and was hurt badly in his head, we had to take him to nearest hospital to be checked (we got there with the owner how waited and helped us), this is after the day before his wife slipped in the same place. They said they will immediately put some antislip stickers but they haven't (they said they will replace the stone next year), and were unwilling to discuss any kind of compensation, which was...

The Building: It is very beautiful and full with colors, especially outside roses. It is very clean and the building services work fine. I had a sunburn and the fan freshened the room. The bed and bath are quite clean and comfortable.
The service: A family runs the hotel and they bring a lot of effort. The service they bring should be in every hotel. They also give you a lot of advices where you can go eat and visit places. They have their contacts to make the journey and vacation very interesting and beautiful. For example we were at the Acheron springs and participated a tour to Antipaxos.
Location: There are lot of beaches like Loutsa and few in the direction to Preveza. I reco. Lithia and Mango. Loutsa can be nice, too but we spend the most of our time at Mango beach club and Lithia.
Preveza and Parga are not far away. Both are beautiful cities and quite to drink and eat something there.
I do not know why people give...
