Meraviglia Slow Living — Hotel in Preveza Municipality

This is a truly wonderful place far away from any hassle and the slightest signs of mass tourisme. Lost somewhere midst the tomate plantations but right on the untouched seaside, this architectural gem features 7 suites, each with a stunning private pool. We stayed in all three room sizes: the smallest features next to the private pool an outdoor jacuzzi (although in the shade and without view), the medium size has a large private pool and an amazingly large front window opening on a generous terrasse while as the largest suite has a huge private pool (slightly colder than the others with 3 (!) private terrasses, and a large private garden. It has two bedrooms, one with a bunkbed, ideal for a family of 4. Important to know: children are welcomed only above 12. Which is understandable as the private pools are next to each other and you can hear every word. The reception lady Anna, somehow the « Soul/Mama of Meraviglia » is probably the most amazing we’ve ever met. She truly went out of her way for the guests and was always a helping hand in all situation. She’s never short of recommendations for tours and explorations of the region. The only, rather important negative point is the kitchen/restauration service. First of all, no breakfast is included in the quite high rates. And while they advertise (and tax!) high quality fresh dishes, we were each time disappointed. Open sandwich with avocado has no avocado inside (« it’s avocado spread, mixed with the cream cheese), scrambled eggs with tomatoes comes with a tomato sauce although we asked for fresh, raw tomatoes, bread is all white and tasteless (« we ran out of whole grain bred » on several days), etc. No breakfast possible before 8.30. Stayed here for a week.||||Genuinely the best hotel ww have ever stayed in.||||Facilities are incredible. Large comfortable bed. Fresh private pool, outdoor hot tub, power shower, outdoor private terrace with swing seat Could go on...||||Staff are amazing and very helpful. The food at hotel is also delicious. The breakfast in particular is the best hotel breakfast we have ever experienced.||||The gym is very unique and has a zen feel. Has all facilities you would want and need.||||If you are looking at this place.. don't hesitate and book its outstanding.||||Few points/tips if you are thinking about staying.||||The only slight problem we had here was the Internet connection. It was a regional problem so not hotels fault. It was not working for about 5 days of our trip. If need to do work bear in mind it is in rural Greece so you may need a backup plan! To be fair though last two days internet been really solid.||||Location is overlooking beach. If you want to be by the beach it is about 5 minute walk. For restaurants and shops there is a small village Mytikas with a couple of shops and a couple of nice restaurants. Reachable by a 10-15 minute walk on the beach. The evening food at hotel is great and can have in your room over looking pool/sea. We regularly went to Preveza where lots of restaurants especially by the marina. 20 euros there and back by Taxi. The vision of a rare jem, hidden for the few, elevates the whole experience, connoting the infamous voyage of Ulysses to his beloved (by the way, not-far-away) ionian Ithaka. Just like the ancient hero met the wise Athena as an aid for his so-longed destination, likewise, the visitor receives the friendly assistance of Krystallia, the receptionist.
