Cozy Apartment Kerkini — Hotel in Sintiki Municipality

Stayed here for a birdwatching trip around Lake Kerkini. This was perfectly located for birding the area, both East and West Banks, and also for trips into other surrounding areas. The accommodation is great with plenty of space for us as a party of 4 friends (1 couple and 2 other friends). Facilities were good, the place was warm and plenty of hot water for all to shower after a long day in the fields. The apartment was well located with places to eat nearby and small shops and petrol stations nearby. We were able to see plenty of bird life, highlights included Lesser White Fronted Goose, Red Breasted Goose, Oriental (Rufous) Turtle Dove and Wallcreeper. Other species of note were European Wildcat and Golden Jackal.

Contact with the host was great from time of booking until we arrived home, he couldn’t have been more helpful and gave us some excellent recommendations of where to eat.

We stayed one night at this location in the center of Livadia. We needed an intermediate accommodation on the way to the south of Greece. The apartment is large, has three bedrooms, a living room, a large kitchen equipped with everything you need. The rooms have access to the terrace/balcony. Initially we thought it would be noisy, the location being next to the road plus it is above a cafe/bar, but no problem, everything was OK. The owner provided us, online, with all the requested details regarding the nearby places of interest, especially the Kerkini lake, restaurants, other shops. The property is in a very quiet area in the tiny village of Livadia. The apartment is very spacious and luminous with all the amenities one could expect. The decoration is lovely and the overall atmosphere very cosy. The cleanliness is really exemplary. In front of the building there is ample, free parking space. On top of all these, it is the host and his family, who are kind, helpful and caring and try to make guests feel at home. Overall, an ideal hub for those who want to explore the charming lake Kerkini and its surroundings, provided that they have a car or other means of transportation.
