Hotel Glyfada — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

The Hotel is a 2, but nobody's claiming a higher category. And those who know are coming here not for a 5 comfort. People say the most popular Greek singer was passing by that beach when she was giving a concert in Thassos, and when she saw it, she decided to stay at this hotel. Not for the luxury that she used to have everywhere but for the fantastic, lonely place, for that beautiful sandy beach, for this crystal water with fish astonished by your presence, for the quietness of the place, for peace and relaxation, for the night sky full of stars hanging above your head, and to wake up under the whisper of waves. ||I totally share the singer's opinion. We felt totally the same when we came to make a video about Thassos. We already stayed at a hotel at Golden Beach of Thassos and we were going around the island shooting the places. And then I saw the beach, and that was it, I didn't want to go anywhere else. I love luxury but I also love nature. You can get luxury everywhere, but how easily you will find peace and such a beautiful nature? All the minimal amenities of the hotel were enough, you've got everything you need for your stay, nothing less. And what is much more important in Thassos - the owners & their cleaning lady keep everything so clean, that you'd be surprised! We saw many hotels in Thassos for professional reasons. I shall tell you, the cleaniness of this hotel can be compared only to a 5* one. Another amazing thing is the owners of the hotel. They do everything they can to make your stay more comfortable, and they are not hunting charter flights or big tour operators. They do not want to spoil the place or the hotel. How often do you see the owner who is not at his 30s and goes every day to the beach to take away stones from the water, so the guests do not get hurt? This is the most amazing thing to me, and I trully appreciate it. ||Thank you, Mr. George, and all your family, from all my heart for our peaceful stay in mid August. I think one reason that I love Thassos that much is our stay at Glyfada Hotel in Thassos. ||One thing for those who are looking for all inclusive stuff: you will not find it here. I don't know if now any dinners are served, but at that time they were not, only breakfast. ||You need a car to stay at the hotel in order you could go somewhere not very far to eat. We just came back from Thasso Glyfada Hotel.They told us for the hotel 3 stars but even 2 stars is too much. The hotel location has a private beach with beatiful and clear water. I can say that you will think hat you are in Maldives. There is nothing negative to talk about the beach.||||Coming to the hotel the location is in a good place all night long you listen the sound of the waves .This is the second good part of the hotel. The rooms are small the walls are cracked and need to paint. The water of the shower and WC is well water and its not possible to take shower if you wash your hair it becomes hard.||||Breakfast : You will never seen this kind of breakfast in you life. The owner Yorgo is the everything of the hotel and he serves the breakfast to your plate. With glove on his hand half tomateos one piece of salami,gouda cheese and feta cheese one egg one sandwich bread and a cup of coffee or tea. you dont have a chance to take the second piece of cheese.The owner Mr Yorgo is 24 hours in the hotel and he have only one woman who Works for cleaning the rooms. The beds and the towels are very hard the only good thing is the beach and if tou dont care for sleeping 5 or 6 hours the hotel is ok. Last year we stayed in this hotel and this year again we stayed here. If you want to stay only for sleep this hotel is very nice. Especially the beach is only for the hotel guest. On the hotel there is no lift,no receptionist,no waiter,no no no . There is only one men who is the owner 84 years old but very young looking and he arrange every thing. He is the receptionist,the waiter,the bell boy ,the technic service etc. He is doing every thing by himself. Shortly he is one supermen .during your stay on the beach you can eat toast,salad beer coffe tea and coke. Except it dont wait anything. There is no dinner you have to go to the center to eat. Taxi cost about 10€. If you have child and really want to be on thecparadise you must choose this hotel. The owner is YORGO BABA. You can talk with him english,dutch,greek turkish and other languages. The beds are clean the sleep quality is well and all rooms are front water.
