Le Chalet — Hotel in Xanthi Municipality

The hotel is located a little away from the city of Xanthi and you need a car. I knew that so i had no problem with this and it also has free private parking. It is a beautiful quite hotel (however the night we stayed there there was a wedding reception taking place at the garden and it was a little noisy. I have been warned for this from the hotel a few days before my arrival so it was ok for me. It has a swimming pull but it doesn't open before 11 am which i think is a little annoying if you want to use the pool early in the morning. The room was just ok. It could be a little refreshed and have some new furniture. My main complain is that the receptionist was never at his place and every time we had to wait until somebody sees us and call him to come to his desk. As i understood he had to do other jobs in the hotel too so he had to leave his post. It may be more economic for the hotel to use its employees for all the posts but the result is to have dissapointed clients. The breakfast was quite good. I didn't try the kitchen. Hotel "Le Chalet" is situated in Pigadia a few kilometres from Xanthi. The hotel is built in typical mountain romantic style with use of many wooden materials. “Le Chalet” offers different kind of rooms with spacious terraces some of which with beautiful view to Rhodope Mountains and other with view to the lovely park of the hotel. The rooms are enough wide and good furnished with high inner cleanliness. In the hotel’s garden there are enough big swimming pool and pool-bar which are very convenient in the hot summer days. Beside that in the garden between different kind of plants is situated a wooden chapel that will be useful for the believers and interesting for the tourist. This hotel is situated a few km outside Xanthi, so a car is necessary. It's a part of a large football complex, with one large main field and several training fields. It belongs to the owners of FC Skoda Xanthi team and this sporting feeling is evident everywhere. Nowhere more evident than the reception area though, where a board is full with photos of Pele himself, visiting the football field and the hotel! Anyway, I found this hotel very welcoming, albeit a bit run down (weeds in places where they shouldn't be, exterior paint peeling off in places, and other similar minor things). Staff was very polite and professional, the rooms were very spacious and the location is very very quiet. A room for two costs 55 Euros, which is great value, considering that includes breakfast and dinner!. The pool area was also very nice, with comfortable seating and a well stocked pool bar.
