Cooling off from the summer heat in the green mountains of Zagori||On our way from Corfu to Meteora we were looking for a good base to explore the Vikos Gorge and Zagori Bridges and Lucas Guesthouse seemed just right. And it was the perfect choice for us: the village is rather easily accessed and not too remote up in the hills which means you are flexible in your choice of day trips; the guesthouse has a shared, big, well-equipped kitchen which was great to prepare breakfast and other meals and the room was spacious, cool and felt like an own little house (we had the 3-bed-suite). As a bonus on top, the friendly and knowledgeable host Lucas who welcomed us, gave recommendations where to hike and what to do and who was simply available for any question we had. We definitely recommend to follow his advice to go rafting (if the conditions allow) - one of the highlights of the entire holiday for our family! ||In the end, we regretted that we did not have more time but our travel schedule only allowed 3 nights here. If you like hiking and visiting mountain villages, 4-5 nights would be better. And you need to plan a bit when to shop groceries/supplies and when/where to eat, as there are not too many options around (two tavernas in walking distance though). ||Thank you Lucas & Melanie! We hope to be back one day to see all the things we missed...

The rooms are very clean and functional, and the beds are super comfortable. The kitchen also has everything you can expect from it.
We were on a long bicycle tour and Lucas' house in Aspraggeloi served us to have a well-deserved rest. Nonetheless, we would totally recommend the guesthouse to discover the area on two wheels (spoiler alert: roads barely have traffic but climbs can be punchy). As a bonus, Lucas has a garage with a fully equipped workshop, so it's a perfect match for...

I am from a small town, and I just loved the feel of the town and the homelike feel of the guesthouse and the beauty of the mountains. After busy Athens and Corfu, the environment was perfect. I was traveling with my son, and Lucas took us out for a day tour one day (picture from one of the villages). I so appreciate seeing the region with a local. His recommendations for dinner in town were perfect but I do like cooking. My one recommendation if I were to change on thing, I would have bought more groceries in the way up to cook in the kitchen. Great stay....
