Here’s a glowing review for Hotel Villa Maya in Flores, Petén, incorporating all the details you requested:

Hotel Villa Maya in Flores, Petén, is an absolute gem for anyone seeking tranquility, nature, and comfort in one beautiful setting. Nestled on the shores of the stunning Petenchel and Monifata Lagoons, the hotel's architecture draws inspiration from the nearby Mayan temples, blending seamlessly into the lush surroundings.

The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed, with modern amenities and showers that offer excellent water pressure. Each room has a private balcony, perfect for enjoying the jungle views and the peaceful sounds of nature. The paved road leading to the hotel makes access easy if you're traveling with your own vehicle.

One of the most enchanting aspects of Villa Maya is the vast array of wildlife you'll encounter. The property is home to both natural and protected wildlife. White-tailed deer roam freely within the reserve, alongside vibrant tropical birds like toucans and parrots. It’s not uncommon to spot coatis scurrying by while strolling along the nature trails. Most evenings, you can hear the distant calls of howler monkeys echoing through the trees, adding to the magical ambiance.

The swimming pool is immaculate and inviting, providing a refreshing break after a day of exploration. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help make your stay even more enjoyable. While I didn't personally try the on-site restaurant, many guests were savoring their dinners, which speaks volumes about the quality of the dining experience.

For anyone visiting the Petén region, whether to explore Tikal or simply relax in nature, Hotel Villa Maya offers the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty. It's truly a paradise waiting to...

Really disappointed with the hotel service and especially the manager who refused to speak to me. I asked to talk directly to her but she refused to leave her office as she only speaks Spainish (i speak spanish) - very odd a manager refuses to help her customers. We had the following issues: We arrived late by taxi. Security guard watched us say goodbye to the taxi driver, and then opened the gate and told us it was a 20 mins walk in the dark. It was on a dirt track road and we had luggage. No help from staff at all. Late check in: worst check in ever. We were given a key and they pointed to the direction of the room. No info given - eg about breakfast etc. We had to ask for everything the next day. No one from the day time staff checked. they say there is an open air gym. Massive lie. There is a machine that has been broken for months if not years. Tried to communicate on WhatsApp to organise tours before we arrived. They basically ignored messages and when they eventually replied, it was useless and too late to organise anything Room pictures are very misleading and disingenuous especially as they include picture of a much bigger bungalow with 2 beds. It includes.pictures of different bungalows so you have no idea what you are booking balcony furniture is uncomfortable ffor the price we paid cheap body wash/ shampoo in the shower nowhere to hang wet towels in the all room, including hand towel next to sink you'd expect a self service filtered water station at reception. At least, you can ask at the bar

We did complain and got an acceptable resolution, however nothing said from the manager. We were polite the entire time but she was rude. I was disappointed not to have a late checkout saying the hotel was full but when I checked online, I...

Kein Saft.

Villa Mays is a charming, remote hotel with a local vibe – clearly a middle-class spot run by locals for locals. The setting is peaceful and the outdoor areas are pleasant. Rooms: Spacious and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the outdoor shower. However, we had issues with ants and mosquitoes even upon arrival, despite keeping all windows and doors shut and minimizing light. Food: Unfortunately, this was a major letdown. Nearly everything seemed to come straight from the freezer – very processed and uninspired. The only highlight was the coffee, which was excellent. Staff: Generally friendly and welcoming, which we appreciated. Overall, it’s a decent place if you’re looking for a local experience and don’t mind basic amenities. But food and cleanliness could definitely be improved.
