Hotel y Restaurante MarBrissa — Hotel in Puerto Barrios

This hotel was fantastic from first contact. They replied quickly and efficiently and I was able to book in the space of a few hours. When I had to change my booking they were again efficient and proactively asked if I needed a pickup. ||Fernanda at reception was brilliant and helpful. With help from Google translate we were able to overcome language difficulties. ||The restaurant was also helpful and catered easily to my veggie diet.||Gardens pool and quiet situation make it a perfect place to stop over. ||The bathroom plumbing is odd and you may need a training session. Fernanda and the plumber were helpful and responsive. ||I actually would have enjoyed another day...

I had no idea what to expect when entering Puerto Barrios; in fact, I'd expected to bypass the area entirely, but the border was closed by the time I got there, and had to turn back.||||The hotel is incredibly well-appointed, which I was not expecting. The grounds are clean and expansive, and the entire area is scenic and welcoming. The restaurant serves good food at very reasonable prices, even though the service is a bit slow....but the view is the best facet of the experience, and well worth any inconvenience. ||||The price is not cheap, but reasonable for what the hotel offers. I can't wait to stay...

Aunque aparentemente está muy bonito el lugar, deja un mal sabor de boca por la condición en la que se encuentran las instalaciones y ciertos aspectos de las habitaciones que no me terminaron de convencer. Nos quedamos en la habitación 108 que es una habitación doble con dos camas y únicamente hay un tomacorriente en toda la habitación y está en el baño. No hay agua caliente, por más que intentaron reparar el calentador no se pudo, las almohadas la verdad que no están tan mal pero pudieran estar mejor. En el techo del balcón se forma una línea de agua que prácticamente deja inutilizable el balcón cuando llueve. Las toallas tenían una línea amarilla pintada y algunas manchas raras que solo Dios sabe de qué son. El hotel en general está un poco abandonado, aunque por la humedad de la ubicación creo yo que es muy díficil darle el mantenimiento adecuado. El personal que nos atendió si 10/10, en todo momento pendiente de nosotros y de nuestra estadía, sonriendo, muy atentos y amigables. En cuanto al desayuno pedimos un desayuno tradicional y pues, estaba... comestible.

Además, durante nuestra estadía hubieron dos apagones de luz, que gracias a que nosotros contamos con nuestro propio UPS no nos vimos afectados, pero de no haberlo utilizado, el equipo de sonido hubiera quedado con serios daños o hasta inservible.

Pienso que este lugar con un par de reparaciones pudiera hasta subir sus precios porque las instalaciones tienen mucho potencial.

Me volvería a quedar pero me llevo una regleta, una extensión, un calentador de agua y mis toallas. Y un par de sillas cómodas...
