Hotel y Bungalows El Jardín — Hotel in San Felipe

We have stayed two times in El Jardin. In both occassions, we were visiting the IRTRA parks in Retalhuleu (Xocomil and Xetulul) and ended up staying in El Jardín instead of using IRTRA's accommodations. ||I have nothing to complain about this place. The food is great. The Puyaso they serve is great (and this comes from a critic of Guatemalan beef), staff is very friendly and good humoured. You can see the Santa Maria and Santiaguito (active, this one) volcanoes from the restaurant and, if you're lucky, you might get to see a Santiaguito eruption from there (no risk of doing that, it's far away).||Apartments are spacious and clean, water is abundant.||By the way, the drive to IRTRA takes maybe 15 minutes.||So even if El Jardin might not have all the facilities that the IRTRA hotels have, I can assure you it's a very good option if by any chance you need...

Very spacious and clean. Loved the location and vegetation surrounding the bungalow. We stayed at bungalow #1 and enjoyed the 3 queen sized beds and 2 baths. The only issue we had was that there was a nest of bees right where the parking spot assigned was. It was scary. The staff was notified but they instead asked us to park elsewhere as to not disturb them. My son has various allergies and I was so scared as to if or what if a bee would sting him. I kept the epipen with me at all times. Thank God the bees where gone by the morning. We were there 4 nights and they never returned. I would recommend and stay here again...

A quiet place overseeing an active volcano in Guatemala. Nice, clean locations, heated pool and normal temp pool, for those that are fan of swimming. Nice panaromic views to three volcanos one of them active, nice weather, and comfortable sleeping quarters. If you are looking for more of nature oriented stay, where you can walk among trees, plants, flowers, enjoying delicious coffee, and away from the hussle and bussle of the city life this is the place to stay. Average rate is about $20.00 per person, they have 4 room bungalows and 6-8 room bungalows are also available. Very nice options for more of a...
