This is a piece of heaven!! The staff was like an extension of my family. We miss them as much as the resort! The beach is amazing! We got a chance to watch eggs hatch and baby turtles make their way into the ocean!! The accommodations are fantastic. Everything is beautiful and yet simple! The pools were fabulous. We got some absolutely gorgeous pictures from their infinity pool. Can’t wait to go back again! I recommend this resort for anyone who is looking to really get away and get some peace in their lives!! You will not be disappointed!

Great place, very vacationesque. Good food, lots of vegetarian options, great Micheladas and decent price. Visitied just for the surf and hotel organized a ride back to Monterrico for 5 of us for almost nothing. Surf board rental was super cheap too and we even played some volleyball with the great workers there. Really made us feel at home. Checked their pricing for rooms / bigalows and seems more than resonable for the price. Definitely a great spot with family or without for a vacation.

I was skeptical about this place, we got there at dark and were able to hear the waves, it was really dark and humid but beautiful, we got up early to see the sun rising, we were really close to the beach, staff was really friendly and took pride in all the work done, we had dinner and lunch, it was delicious. This is a great place and I want to be back soon, thank you Henry, Victor, Maria Jorge and Silvia.

Service at front desk/phone 5/5||Infrastructure & Location 3/5||Cleanness 5/5||Food 2/5||Restaurant service 0/5||||The place doesn't overcrowd, which is good, if you hate crowds and want a chill place, but this also means that at the restaurant even if there's not that many people waiters will ignore you and go M.I.A. for several minutes even after you call them.||||The drinks are really good, but the food is not, I ordered some french fries/chips, and they were really dry and hard to chew as if overcooked on an air fryer, the other food was slightly below average regarding taste and I think it's overpriced for the type of food they give, they have 4 or 5-star restaurant prices (reference from prices in Guatemala City restaurants) but the food is not 4 or 5-star quality or taste. Also, Food takes really long to get to the table (not sure if it's a kitchen or waiter issue). ||||Again with the waiter issue, I ordered some food, the waiter repeated the order right and then when the food arrived the order was wrong, and he refused to acknowledge his mistake, I ended up eating food I didn't order to avoid conflict. But, the cherry on top was when afterwards he tried to charge extra, saying that some drinks' price was more than the one written on the menu, and requested to give him the money, when confronted about the prices he insisted the price of the drinks was different, even getting angry (or probably just acting that way to add pressure) and when asked to bring the menu to check the price, he ran to check a menu at another table (he didn't bring the menu back) and then said that I was right about the price. Btw, the "check" was handwritten and wasn't broken down properly.||||The place doesn't look like in the photos, in reality the buildings seems really worn out, which I guess is something normal in the area as the whole road used to arrive there, is full of holes, and at some point is just dirt with also huge holes. The road seems pretty much abandoned. The only good thing is that at least Maya Jade pool, restaurant and beach areas are clean with no trash lying around, something that you cannot say about other locations nearby.||||Location wise, it is a lovely place far from everything, so if you're looking for a place that's not overcrowded or noisy, this is it. Beach is clean and the sea is also clean in this area. If you bring your dog be careful as there are some "strays" or extremely malnourished dogs roaming around at the beach (their ribs were showing) near the restaurant and pool area, they will probably ignore your dog or if your dog stares at them, they will run away, but still be careful.||||I didn't stay the night, but I can say that if you're worried about security, this is not the place, as it is open and anyone can enter from the beach, thing I saw, as a bunch of people arrived from the beach in the early evening. This place didn't gave off that "private area safety" vibe.||||On another note (not related to the rate I gave Maya Jade)||I wouldn't recommend going to the Escuintla and Santa Rosa beaches area as the whole area seems abandoned and even destroyed by human activity. Locals seem to see you as a money bag and will ask you for money or try to scam you any chance they get, which is quite common in all of Guatemala's "tourism" areas, but I believe these places are within the worst regarding this matter, situation that's even worse If you don't look like a local regarding your skin tone, as this means locals will try to...

Our stay at Maya Jade was absolutely wonderful! Nestled right on the oceanfront, this hotel offers the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. The gentle waves make it ideal for playing in the water or even taking your first surfing lesson. If you prefer calmer waters, the river behind the hotel is perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding, adding to the variety of activities available. ||The accommodations are thoughtfully designed to suit all travelers, from budget-friendly options for surfers to luxurious suites. Our unit was fantastic—it had a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms, making it incredibly comfortable for our stay. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and we were impressed with how well the space was designed to provide both comfort and convenience. For the price, it was an absolute bargain! ||The hotel features four large, clean swimming pools plus smaller pools, ensuring plenty of space to relax. The restaurant serves very nice food at very reasonable prices, making dining an enjoyable experience. ||A special thank you to the reception team— Simon, Maria Jose and Raquel—for their outstanding service and hospitality. Their warmth and attentiveness truly made our stay unforgettable! ||We particularly enjoyed the peaceful mid-week atmosphere, when the hotel was quieter, allowing us to fully unwind. ||We were also touched by the hotel's initiative to help local stray dogs by installing feeding stations. It’s wonderful to see a place that not only cares for its guests but also gives back to the community. ||We will definitely be back! If you’re looking for a beautiful, well-run, and welcoming place to stay in Guatemala, Maya Jade is the...

I had the opportunity to visit this resort this last past weekend with my family. I would like to say that the road to get to the place is complicated due to the fact that is about 30 minutes from Monterrico´s public beach this includes about 4 kilometers of dirt road. Once we got to the hotel I could say that the area is nice and quiet. The personnel was nice and helpful. They have 3 pools which are nice and clean. We arrived at around 11AM and they had our room ready in 30 minutes. The room which was a suite was on the other side of the road which is very close to the reception. The Room was big and clean however the building appears to be under construction and a lot of noise during day due to that. One big turn down for us was the fact that there are no TV’s in the rooms and when we asked reception they said that they have a lot of activates to choose from however they never offered anything of those activities to us. The area where the suite was located had another pool which was not as clean as the ones near the reception in fact we were able to see some crabs inside it. It is also important to mention that the pools are filled with ocean water. We had lunch in the hotel restaurant and was nice. However keeping in mind that we were basically the only ones in the hotel they took a long time to serve 4 plates. The prices were not cheap and the food could have been better. To sum up is a nice hotel but we will not be staying here again and would not recommend for anybody with kids...
