Location: The location is in a nice area, no concerns with safety. The town itself that it’s a part of, looks well kept up. Road conditions: the hotel is at the top of a mountain, so if you’re bringing your own car (which we did - a low Nissan Sentra), You’ll be driving uphill on dirt and gravel, but the good thing is that half the road is actually concrete. We went during wet season and had no issues at all getting up to the hotel and the car we had was not the greatest lol. Parking is free and on site, so if you’re bring a tuk tuk or a car, you’ll make it and have safe parking. Rooms: the rooms are lovely, spacious, clean and there’s an AC unit and a TV. The only thing was, we didn’t have a blanket just a sheet, which would of been ok if there was no AC, but their AC units work amazing and I had to turn it off in the middle of the night cause it was cold. Lol the beds were comfortable. Food: I got the standard Guatemalan breakfast and a cafe con leche - the eggs and the beans were good. It came with sausage links and I’m not a big meat eater so I didnt eat the sausage. The coffee was good.

It is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the food and the views. I just recommend more vegetation in the restaurant area and a little desk and chair into the bedrooms. Otherwise, it is a excellent option to enjoy Gualan City. If you are traveling Guatemalan northeast, I invite you to visit this town, and this hotel & restaurant.

We couldn’t make it back to the city due to accidents and traffic. El mirador was our saving grace! Affordable, simple but everything we needed, and an amazing breakfast. The service was remarkable.

The food was great and the service was excellent. Of course we know to have a couple of options picked out because they don't always have everything on the menu but it's okay. The wine list is something of an adventure but there's always...
