Cabañas Laru Beya — Hotel in Roatán

Out of the only three accommodation options at Cayos Cochinos, Cabañas Laru Beya combine affordability with the comfort of having electricity. The only available options are 2 dorms, but we visited during a low season, so we had the whole dorm to ourselves and there's 1 double bed in it. During high season it might be a good idea to book in advance.||The rooms are clean with comfortable beds. The staff are friendly, but to be able to communicate you'll need at least basic Spanish. The food is good, though vegetarian options are limited. We had fresh fish for every day, which was excellent, lunch being the main meal of the day. You can also choose chicken, or lobster. Try the fish soup with coconut juice (you'll need to ask for it, as there are no menus available).||The nature is simply breath taking! Turquoise, translucent, warm water, white sand, palm trees... Nearly a paradise, with the only flaw being the rubbish brought out by the sea every day. They clean the shore regularly, but sadly it's not nearly enough to keep it pristine. What makes up for it though is the coral reef, which offers great sights for snorkeling. You can rent snorkeling gear there. Tours from local guides are available too, ask the staff to help you arrange it. On the shore you can choose the pink boa constrictor tour, which will take you to the boas within a hand's reach.||We stayed at Cayos for a few days and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. If it hadn't been for the fact that our cash was finished, we would have extended our stay, so bring extra supplies, as the nearest ATM is at La Ceiba. He tenido la oportunidad de viajar en dos ocasiones a estas maravillosas islas, y les aseguro que es una experiencia fantastica, un lugar donde todo es 100% natural, aislado de las distracciones de nuestras ciudades que no nos permiten observar la naturaleza que nos rodea, gente sencilla, servicial, muy encantadora y amable en especial su anfitrion el profesor Francisco Velasquez quien es un excelente guia, facilitador y amigo quien se esmerara por que su estadia se aun mejor. excelente comida tipica, bellas cabañas de madera tipicas de esa region, playas de arenas blancas excelentes para realizar snorking o simplemente para bañar y disfrutar de aguas completamente pristinas y transparentes que no podra observar en ningun lugar de Honduras en fin son tantas las maravillas de ese lugar que solo visitandolo te daras cuenta del paraiso natural con que contamos los hondureños y que se encuentra a pocos minutos de nuestra costa Atlantica y que solo requiere de nuestra disposicion y un poco de nuestro tiempo el cual en nuestra estadía pareciera correr...

Primero, quiero agradecer a toda la comunidad de East End de Cayos Cochino, y en especial al Profesor Francisco, por abrirnos las puertas de la comunidad y hacernos sentir como amigos. Las cabañas reunen todo lo necesario para una estadía comoda, y desde allí a solo escasos minutos en bote de las maravillas que la isla tiene para ofrecer. La cocina, disponible para los tres tiempos de comida, es sin lugar a duda un sitio perfecto para disfrutar de platos exquisitos y con sabores autóctonos. ||La gente de East End te acoge desde la llegada con brazos abiertos y de manera respetuosa, lo que hace que enseguida te sientas como una visita y menos como un turista.||||Felicidades y muchas gracias de nuevo.||||Fernando Peña y...
