Metrotel Express — Hotel in San Pedro Sula

They very kindly reached out to me in advance to arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel and I arranged it with them. Unfortunately, they didn't follow through, so I was stuck at the terminal late at night. I reached out and they offered to send me a driver in 15 minutes and I ultimately decided to take an airport cab.|The hotel is very close to the airport, which is very convenient if you aren't heading to the city. In my case I was taking another flight the next morning, so it was the ideal place to stay. It's not expensive, definitely not flashy, but it does the job. Check in was quick, and the room was quiet, other than the loud AC I had to turn on because it was really hot.|Breakfast was surprisingly good. Nice place, friendly staff. Beginning to show its age. Room smelled musty, corrosion on faucets in bathrooms. No reading lights. On the plus side, beautiful, well tended grounds, nice pool and children play area. On site restaurant is good, serves beer and wine only, closed on Sunday and no other restaurants close by. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for an overnight stay in the area. We were quite pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and polite service we experienced while there. This is a great price for a SAFE hotel to stay at in San Pedro Sula. There are several hotels around Honduras' second largest city, but few have private security, and those that do are usually quite expensive.
