This used to be called Hotel Copantl. I stayed here for a week while on business in Tegucigalpa Honduras. Frankly that's the only reason I come here. This was supposed to be a 2 night stay, but stuff happens. My associate made the reservation and as he is a local, I trust him. ||||The hotel is located up a bit in the hills. It really has no amenities to speak of...no pool, no fitness room. But as I am by myself and rather used to being alone in a hotel, this offered a clean, secure reasonably priced option to the pricey hotels downtown. I would not recommend this for a family if you are looking for things to keep the kids busy. There is nothing to do.||The rooms are suites with a comfortable bed, a small but well appointment kitchenette with a bar and 2 stools, bathroom with a shower, sink outside the bathroom, an armoir and workdesk. Shower water pressure was a bit weak, but fine. There is a safe in the armoir, but I couldnt get it to work. I dont travel with anything of real value and always have my money with me. Half of the room was the living area witha sofa (turns into a bed) a chair, coffee table and TV WITH CABLE. ||||Other than the sofa, the room was very clean. The sofa could have used a deep cleaning or replacement but it was ok. I'm picky. Once in a while, I'd get a stale smell from it. It wasn't "disgusting". There was a fresh bottle of water each day and a water cooler in the lobby. Although I did drink the tap water and had no issues. I come to Honduras often, so I might just be used to it, but I've never had any problems. ||||I found plenty of outlets for chargers and electronics. WiFi was reliable. And I had no issues with theft even when I left some electronics out. AC was a little noisy, but worked well. I only used it at night.||||Breakfast is included (for 2). The meals are simple but good. Try the breakfast baleada. As always in Honduras, the coffee is great! I don't leave the hotel ever on my own. It simply is not safe. Nowhere in Tegucigalpa is really safe for a foreign woman to walk on her own...except INSIDE THE MALL. Evening meals are the same menu as breakfast. Mostly egg based, but they have a ham and cheese sandwich. I ordered dinner one night from a service that offers delivery from several restaurants around. It's a little pricey, and it was Friday night, rainy...took 1.5 hours. But might be better another time. The food was passable.. My rec is that you stop at a grocery store and get some things you can heat up.||I would stay here again, for the price. Around...
Read moreStayed for 2 nights as part of birding trip to Honduras. Was travelling alone (although with a guide and driver) and was upgraded to "presidential suite" - which had a separate sitting room with kitchen area.||Undoubtedly a bit tired but nothing was unclean or dangerous. Bottled water was provided and replenished every day. Noisy but functional aircon. Room was at the back and reasonably quiet, overlooking what was the pool but it was empty and not in use.||Two very good things about this hotel - the location being out of the city and quite close to the National Park where I had fantastic views of the Resplendent Quetzal and also the restaurant.||The hotel had a new chef who (luckily for me) spoke English, did great steaks and opened up the restaurant specially for me (I think I'm right in saying it is normally closed on Sunday's). This was most welcome as being a single traveller I'm not sure where else I would have eaten without calling on my driver and guide.||As a result of the restaurant and chef being so accommodating I have rated this as very good but note this does not...
Read moreI agree with Garybirder. Sad and in need of an upgrade. I had a front room, noisy because it was on the road and they are building a strip mall across from the hotel which may help it but construction noise started early in the am and carried on even on Sunday morning. Bed had no mattress cover and the bottom sheet did not reach the end of the bed. I asked a mattress cover several times at the desk and I was told they did not have any and would put on a extra sheet. Didn't happen. The 3rd day, there was a mattress cover put on. In the meantime, there was a power outage in the area which meant no internet on that floor for the rest of my stay as the router was not reset and no ice as the machine had shorted. In short, depressing and cleanliness a bit dodgy. No water pressure in the shower and no hair dryer. Refrigerator in the kitchenette but unplugged as was the phone. You have to use your room key for power. Not going back...
