We spent eight wonderful nights in Tura at this stunning castle, and it was an unforgettable experience. Here is our detailed feedback:
Service: The service throughout our stay was impeccable. The hotel staff was helpful and always had a smile on their lips.
Food: the hotel offers an own restaurant called „Clarisse“ with a small and exclusive card, paired with an impressive wine list available by the glass or bottle. We tasted the freshness of the ingredients and the dishes were exceptional. Homemade warm bread and amouse buche was served to every dinner. Also the interior is so nice (old and modern style combined). We couldn’t get enough and ate very often there.
Breakfast (must be rated seperately): the breakfast is a la carte what we really liked! You could choose out of a card with a nice choice of eggs (scrambled, sunny side-up, omelette), granola, avocado toast, cheese platter, seasonal fruits, juices, coffee, bread, pastry, etc.). The breakfast room with the high windows made the start into the day beautiful.
Facilities: it must be said that the castle looks like a fairytale castle from outside! Also the inside architecture was beautiful, offering a truly serene and luxurious atmosphere. Everything was decorated with great attention to detail. They have a beautiful bar, concert piano and cozy rooms to relax. The SPA/Wellness is calm and lovely, offering a warm indoor pool, sauna, a turkish bath and a relaxing area. The hotel also offers an outdoor pool, a great gym in a seperate building and a big park where you can have long walks!
Attention to detail: this hotel really showed attention to detail! Moët Champagne & chocolate pralines as welcome. Changing our house shoes after a certain time, etc.
Cleanliness: the hotel was perfectly tidy.
Parking: guest parking is right in front of the mansion, adding to the overall ease and comfort of our stay.
The only thing that we dislike: While the SPA/Wellness area is lovely, we felt that the staff could benefit from being a bit more attentive and readily available.
A special mention goes to Soma, the Bar Manager, who was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his craft, elevating our experience with every visit at the bar.
All in all, it was an outstanding hotel, and we will certainly return...
Read moreWe attended a wedding here as guests for two nights (minimum stay).
The wedding itself was quite possibly the most extravagant I have ever attended, something out of a fairytale. If you are considering this venue for your wedding it will not disappoint.
The rooms were as luxurious as the castle itself with every little detail well planned and curated, each room was different and interesting. The bridal suit had a large open plan bedroom with study, a large separate lounge area, private dining room and a 180° balcony with panoramic views of the grounds.
As guests we had access to the spa and ground throughout our stay. As it is private hire only it was wonderful relaxing in the spa with the wedding party. There was a sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor pool, a salt room, and relaxation area.
If you wanted to be more active there were tennis courts, a gym and a great footpath for running.
The grounds were well maintained with plenty of picturesque locations for wedding photos.
The wedding itself was stunning with four main areas used. The terrace for welcome drinks. This also had its own bathroom facilities meaning you didn't have to travel back to the main castle. There was the grass lawn for the ceremony. This was decorated with hydrangeas and a wave of flowers. The marquee where there was an outside bar serving cocktails and an impressive buffet next to the seated area. Lastly, there was the indoor dance floor and bar fittingly lit up like a disco ball!
Everything about this venue and hotel was...
Read moreWe stayed yesterday and I guess cos it’s a Monday there’s not many people and maybe we’re the only hotel guests there (other than this one other family). The reason why for the lower than 5 rating is that one of the lady who was part of the hotel crew was very rude! After we checked in we wondered around the hotel for a bit but we got stopped and a lady on the top floor (seems like she was part of the hotel management) and asked us why we’re here and you shouldn’t be here etc! I really don’t understand it’s a gated property and no strangers are allowed in the premises and that’s not how the way you should treat your hotel guest! But to be honest other than this unpleasant experience all the other staff were quite professional and speaks very good English. I guess this is another thing, the lady didn’t speak English and my partner was speaking Hungarian with her and she was just very rude. I really don’t appreciate the hotel would treat him differently as a local vs what I get as an English speaker. Everyone should be treated equal. The hotel otherwise is excellent! The room, the cocktails and the food and the spa areas are super nice. Also the outdoor pool is amazing! Services a bit lacking guess there’s not many guests, but the bar tender was super...
