FLOW Hotel & Conference**** — Hotel in Dabasi járás

We recently stayed at Flow Hotel & Conference for one night as a transit stop before our flight, opting to try what was advertised as a more premium alternative to our usual stay at the Airport Ibis. What we experienced was far from premium and, disturbingly, may have had as much to do with our nationality as the hotel's general incompetence.||While we expected some highway noise due to the hotel's location, we booked under the assumption that the advertised soundproofed rooms, would keep things quiet. They did not.||The noise was noticeable-too much for my wife, a light sleeper, to get any rest. When we politely requested a room change, the receptionist's behavior was dismissive and unhelpful. Despite the hotel being nearly empty, we were told no other rooms were available. Eventually, we were offered another room in a similar noisy location, which was obviously not a solution.||But things took a far more unpleasant turn later. Upon returning to the hotel, after a quick dash around the area, we overheard the front desk staff-both the gentleman who checked us in and the lady who refused our room change-refer to us as "büdös románok" ("stinking Romanians") as we walked by. This kind of derogatory, racist comment makes it clear that part of our subpar experience may have stemmed from our nationality.||||Beyond the shocking unprofessionalism and discriminatory behavior, the room itself was not properly cleaned. Stains from glasses were clearly visible on the desk - the sheer number of which suggested the desk hadn't been wiped in long time. We also found two bugs-one squashed on the carpet when we arrived, and another crawling on the bed after dinner. While we understand that bugs may be more common due to the hotel's location in an agricultural area, it doesn't excuse the lack of basic housekeeping.||Speaking of dinner: another disaster. €45 for a burger, goulash, and two cocktails is fine for a higher-end hotel, but the quality was abysmal.||One cocktail tasted like rubbing alcohol, while the other was basically sweet water. The goulash was lukewarm and featured undercooked vegetables with tough, tasteless meat. The burger was barely passable. Worse still, the waiter acted as though serving us was beneath him, and the service felt deliberately hostile. Oh and, beware, the menu hides a 10% service charge in the fine print-technically disclosed, but hardly upfront.||||All in all, Flow Hotel & Conference is overpriced, poorly managed, and, based on our experience, a tad xenophobic. The lack of professionalism, inadequate service, and subpar cleanliness make this a place to avoid.||We certainly won't be returning and would urge others-especially those from outside Hungary||-to think twice before booking.||||Update:||||We’ve now spent three sleepless hours at Flow Hotel & Conference, and the experience has only gotten worse. Initially, we were concerned about the highway noise, but it turns out that’s the least of our problems. The bed creaks so loudly with every tiny movement that it’s impossible to relax, let alone sleep. Add to that the fact that we can hear every other guest in the hotel—whether they’re showering or walking through the hallways—and you’ve got the perfect storm of noise.||||The pillows? Without a doubt, the worst we’ve ever experienced. Disappointing stay, I already submitted my review on booking.com but will copy it below. It makes the overall experience even worst that it seems that they are happy to answer good reviews, but do not take the time to get back to costumers with bad experience.

Breakfast was good. We also had lunch and dinner in the restaurant – all the dishes were very tasty and the service was very nice as well.

The bathroom was spacious and had a lot of space for storing our belongings. (The shower drain was leaking a little bit, but it was not too disturbing.)

When we arrived, the sofa was dirty, but it was cleaned after we let reception know about it. We also found a stain and a strand of hair on the bedding. Also, in the pictures, the one-bedroom suite appears to be bright, but our room was very dark.

We attended a wedding near the hotel and planned our stay a little longer so that we could relax in the spa before and after the wedding. It turned out that the spa is available only between 4 PM and 10 PM, so we couldn’t use it before the wedding as we had planned.

The next day, I asked the receptionists to show me where it is stated on booking.com that the spa is only available during this period. They told me it should be listed somewhere, but could not show me exactly where. I told them that if I had known this earlier, I would have made a shorter reservation. They said they would check if they could open the spa earlier, around 2:30 PM. We waited for an hour, but nobody got back to me, so we decided to leave the hotel a day earlier.

Only when I was loading our belongings into the car and passed by reception did they inform me that the spa was open.

When I checked out, the receptionist asked about our stay. I told him it was more or less okay, but that we had decided to leave a day earlier. He didn’t ask any follow-up questions—just said, “alright, thank you and goodbye.”

Overall, the pictures on the website were misleading – based on them, you would expect a bright room, but our room was quite dark. The spa opening hours should also be clearly stated on booking.com. It’s strange that even the receptionists couldn’t find that information. The staff should be aware of such details, regardless which OTA are you asking about. Rooms were great as was the service including breakfast and dining was excellent.

One thing that really made us upset was the extreme lack of supervision in the spa. Lots of children where playing there and making lots of noise when our group were relaxing after a long day.

The group of children where really getting in our personal space and harrasing us by peeking around the corner at the one lady that was with our group. (They went as far as to get their friends to also come look)

They even went as far as trying to record her as we caught one of them having there camera already recording when trying to walk around the corner again..

After making a complaint the staff was sorry for what happend and ensured us that the group was checking out next morning.

The service was terrible for this part as this was easy to avoid if there was some sort of staff there in de spa behind the counter. Also the staff lacked helping us when adressing this problem to them.

Realy expected way more from a hotel rated as good as this one.

For the rest de exprerience was excellent.

-general manager did not care about the very traumatic incident my girlfriend had. Manager simply askes for a higher review instead of saying any form of sorry or telling that the incident will me reviewd.. post care for custumors...
