There really should be a zero because that was exactly what I got from this place. I was on a bike tour down the Donau Radweg and for an odd reason on the way the route plan took me 40 kilometers backwards to Gyor. Since it was late in the season darkness was coming early and the route, as often is the case took me to some very difficult paths to follow in the dark. However I managed to ride through to Gyor mainly to honor my commitment for booking the Hostel Maros. When I did arrive I rang the bell to the "Hostel" and I was told in a broken German that I was too late. I explained that I had, already paid, that I worked very hard to arrive there by bicycle and that I would be sleeping outside on a night with minus temperatures. She was not concerned about that, shut the window and continued to watch TV. I did have a tent and would have free camped 40 kilometers earlier so I would not have to make the trip back the next morning, but I thought I booked a place I should honor that booking. Instead I free camped in a city park in Gyor and waited the whole night to be kicked out. Now I still have to try and get my 30 E refunded...
Read moreLike a lot of places on Booking.com, pictures here don't always reflect the full situation of the rental. Much to his credit, the owner was nice enough to let me check in early - hence 4 stars for flexibilityinstead of 3 that would have been given. I wanted the room next to where my bike would be stored (to keep an eye on it) but was told it was reserved ... but no one showed up and it remained vacant; so not sure why the story given to me. Having a refrigerator was nice, wifi worked. NO AC, so if traveling during the summer be prepared to be uncomfortable if a heat wave is going on (if you open your window you'll get eaten alive by mosquitoes!). Bathrooms can be crowded since there is basically one shower and two toilets with little privacy. My room was okay but I don't need mints on the pillow like a fancy motel (in other words, I'm not picky if there is a bit of dirt, cobwebs, etc.) I was supposed to have a double bed not two singles pushed together but I made it work. Room could use a budget ceiling fan (or even a mobile fan) to help with heat and...
Read more😊: I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming hostel with a very good location. Situated in a quite area just a stone's throw away from the sport arena and only a few minutes' walk from the city center, it was the perfect base for exploring the area.
The owner Mr. Atila was exceptionally friendly and helpful, always going out of his way to ensure us felt welcome and comfortable. His warm hospitality truly added a personal touch to the experience.
The hostel itself had a delightful, homely atmosphere. From the cozy common areas to the overall relaxed vibe, it felt like a home away from home. I can really recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay in such a...
