My brother made a reservation for me at this hotel from 16th of April until the 17th(confirmation number 90441839).
It is my 3rd or 2nd stay here as I was here in the past to sleep between long drives.
He specifically placed a note on the booking that said “arrival time 10:00”
I arrived at 10:00 and the young lady at the reception( trainee Laura ) searched a good 5 minutes for the reservation even though I asked her 2-3 times if the reservation number would help.
At this point I had driven for about 10 hours and the only reason for the stop here was to sleep since I was exhausted.
She told me that normally check in is made at 14-15:00 and that guests from the room “just left” and they need time to clean the room and asked me to return at around 13:00.
I told her I am exhausted from driving and I will check from time to time with her - maybe maybe something would happen.
I also told her that I do not mind if the room is messy since all I need is to sleep so I can keep going further so I can get back home to my wife and child. She smiled and she said she will see what she can do.
This was more than 3 hours ago! Not only she did nothing to help me out, from time to time she would glance in my direction and yawn towards me while giving me a smug look.
I asked her if she has any update from the room being available and she said “ummm…let me just check” @ 13:20 and after a long pause she said she “will call the housekeepers and check what the status is” because the room was not ready.
As owners of a very expensive membership with Marriott that gives us access to this location (one of many worldwide) I can honestly say I am beyond appalled about what just happened here today.
It is 13:23 and still nothing.
I will not come back here even if someone paid me in the future.
To add insult to injury : there were maximum 10 cars in the whole parking lot and in the past 3 hours and half I saw maybe 10 turists in total.
Update: 13:50. Still nothing happened. Laura is acting “busy” at reception with no one in sight.
Update: at 14:10 I saw Laura left…like…left home. I asked at the reception what is happening and they told me they knew nothing and had to check with housekeeping.
Told me it will take another 25-30 minutes for the room to be ready.
After I explained to the receptionist what happened and that I have waited for more than 4 hours for the room to be cleaned, his coleague realized we are Marriott Platinum club members and a room was imediately available.
I will never come back here...
Read moreMy boyfriend is a Marriott member, and we are a family of four, currently on a round trip with two adolescents and our dog. We chose this hotel specifically because it is pet-friendly, and we informed the hotel in advance that we would be arriving late.
Unfortunately, upon our late-night arrival, we were informed that our dog could not stay in the rooms we had booked because pets are only allowed on the first floor. This was quite disappointing, as we had made it clear from the beginning that we were traveling with a dog. Additionally, we needed a room with twin beds for our two teenagers, but it turns out that no such rooms are available on the first floor.
When we inquired about possible solutions, we were told by the receptionist, Barbara, that there were no alternatives available due to hotel protocol. We suggested offering a second room for the boys, either complimentary or at a discount, but this suggestion was not taken seriously, had Barbara’s response felt unprofessional, she was literally laughing.
Apart of this the receptionist's attire and overall appearance did not seem appropriate for a professional setting, which added to our discomfort during the interaction.
In the end, we accepted a room on the first floor, but there were further issues. Nothing was prepared for the dog in the room, and when I called the reception to ask for a dog bowl, I was initially told that they didn’t have any. However, about ten minutes later, my boyfriend was approached and given a bowl.
Additionally, the shower gel in our room was empty, and the tissue box had only one tissue left, which gave the impression that the room had not been fully prepared for our stay.
The next morning, we encountered more challenges. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, which we understand, but we were required to take an awkward route through the lobby to reach the terrace, and no table was prepared for us there. We had to ask staff to set up a table, which was an inconvenience.
Given these experiences, I’m left wondering if this hotel is truly pet-friendly. Moreover, the eggplant salad served at breakfast was spoiled and sour, which added to our...
Read moreHave stayed here twice now in a short period. Rooms are nice, well equipped, clean, spacious, with a large bathroom. The gym is lacking in equipment but the spa area more than makes up for this.
Very good breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, bar also has a good selection of spirits, alcohol and cocktails. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Will always pick this hotel when I come on business
Having gave the review above, and having stayed here 4 times I can say I won’t be staying again… because of the service I received this time. Being from the UK I am not used to rooms which are 27degC. Having explained that I believe the AC in my room to be faulty, I was ensured that it would be fixed and that night I slept rather uncomfortably. I was offered a new room but it was late in the evening so with the promise of the problem going away the next day I declined. The next day I was told my AC was fixed, but to my dismay that night I found it wasn’t and that my room was 28 this time. This time I moved rooms to a twin room as they have no doubles left. To my dismay I found that the new room also have faulty as and was a mere 25 degrees. After having transferred all my belongings across the hotel for absolutely no reason, giving up a double bed in the process to end up in a smaller room with no AC, I can honestly say I will never stay here again.
It’s a nice hotel, but be aware that if it’s warm the AC will not work. And they won’t tell you it’s not working. And they will have you hopping around the hotel...
