I had not been to Hungary before but was expecting any hotel outside Budapest to be a bit "out there" if you catch my drift. My work colleagues normally stay in another town, so we were all unfamiliar with this hotel and the photo's we could find looked a bit scary to be honest!||However on arrival I was amazed to find that it was quite good, its basic - rooms are spacious but there isn't much in them and what there is, is quite small, I am short so had no problem with the beds but both my colleagues are quite tall and said they were strugging a bit! The bathrooms are big and I think they have been recently refurbished as everything looked new. They have basic walk in showers, the water pressure is good and strong and we had plenty of hot water at all times.||The room also had a small flat screen TV in it, I could only get EuroNews and Al Jazeera in English but it was enough to get by.||The staff were really nice and were quick to get us checked in and serve us from the small "bar" at the front of the restaurant. Their English ranged from a bit to not much.. but then I can't speak Hungarian so I'd be a hypocrite to complain.||They did serve some food in the evening I think but you had to pre book as far as I can tell. The breakfast was a help yourself affair consisting of cereal, cold meat and cheese, with tea and coffee, they had Earl Grey tea bags which was a surprise.||Kiskunfelegyhaza does have a handful of eateries and bars (about 10 -15 mins walk from hotel) but be warned everything closes up about 9.00 - 9.30pm.||Overall, if I came back to Hungary I would had to...
Read moreTravelling back from Romania we saw another hotel advertised on a board alongside the motorway. After coming to the town we found this one instead. ||The young man who greated us, although speaking as much English as I speak Hungarian, ( non ), was pleasant and with the help of his young local friend who spoke a little English we managed to park the car in secure parking and get a pleasent en suit room. ||The first thing you notice is the cleanliness of the whole place, especially the bedrooms. The bed rooms whilst not big, were perfectly adequate. The shower room too was perfect for our needs. The shower cubical was a little small for my larger friend but he managed and there was plenty off hot water. ||The only downside of the room was that it was very hot, no air con. The largest window had a fly screen which was great, we could leave it open all night but in the morning it became a bit noisy with the local traffic. Just a fan in the room would make all the difference. ||Evening meals are not cooked on site but can be ordered and delivered by their associate resturant or like us you can walk across the road to the Sports Bar. We looked at the English menu in the hotel and our young host accompanied us over to translate it for us. The food was good andtasty. Lots of it. ||The breakfast was a continental cold buffet style. Cereal, ham, cheese, fresh bread etc. As much coffee and herbal or earl grey tea as you want to help yourself to. ||All in all, I would certainly recommend this hotel. It's perfect for those who need a good nights sleep on...
Read moreThis is a budget hotel in a smallish town in Hungary, and it meets the expectations of a fine accommodation of this type, On the upside are certainly the impeccable cleanliness and the staff, who are kind and extremely friendly, and do their best to communicate, even if their English and German are poor. Also, the hotel has a nice common room on the top floor, with large sofas and armchairs and a small fitness set, as well as a public computer. Cable internet is available for free and works perfectly. On the downside is the fact that the noises from the corridor are very much audible in the rooms, which is a nuisance in case of late arrivals. Choice for breakfast is not too wide, but the products are fresh and tasty, Black tea is available, which is not a common thing in Hungary, former Yugoslavia etc. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, but they could use better arrangement of furniture. Be careful with the slanted ceilings in the top rooms ;) A nice restaurant with wonderful gulash soup and typical Hungarian fruit soup is just 2 minutes walk on the same street. Free parking available in a closed yard. Rooms are non-smoking but you may expect some smoke in the lobby.||||Generally I would recommend this hotel to budget travellers because you get good value and warm welcome for a...
