Kastélyszálló Mátészalka — Hotel in Mátészalkai járás

Stayed on a business trip in April 2018. Arrived Monday and checked out Thursday.||Apparently we were lucky with rooms in the main building. Can't comment on others it the one I had was well sized, shower was hot and a good pressure. Bed was comfortable although quite small. ||The grounds themselves are large mature gardens and quite attractive.||Entry is through a secure gate with a key provided to access when not open. ||Food in the evening was very nice and the barman chatty and polite.||Breakfast was not great but there were meats and cheeses as well as toast, cereals, yoghurt, fruit and eggs.||All in, great stay. Will be back for w9rk sometime soon...

Feels like home! Great place for business travellers (region specific), and a nice place for a relaxing weekend. Update: unfortunately, after a year coming back to the same place, it doesn't look as good as it was. Service level decreased, what you get for the price in comparison with other places is very basic. The only thing that you can do in the evening staying in the hotel - hang up in a bar and drink. It is sad to see such a place get less and less...

The main difficulty with this hotel is getting in during the afternoon, virtually deserted and no obvious hotel sign. Once other guests arrived late afternoon , early evening it was much better. Bar / restaurant is ok and dinner was very nice . Staff are friendly and helpful but English limited apart from one person. TV and pool table in bar area. Had a chalet room which was comfortable enough for one night. Nice gardens and could be very pleasant in summer....
