The area is beautiful, and the location is good for those who plan to go on hikes in the mountains nearby. The breakfast was nice, and the staff was polite and kind. The inner yard has a nice pool in it, which was fun for the kids. The beds were comfortable, which was much appreciated.
And now the negative experiences... The hotel seems neglected in general, it is not well-maintained and could use a lot of renovation. The room we stayed in with my partner was quite dirty, not so much the bedroom, but the bathroom was disgusting. The toilet couldn't be flushed properly - this problem was present in another room as well. They didn't have nets on the windows which I found surprising, as the hotel is next to a small river and therefore the area is full of mosquitos. Another thing that was unbelievable for me was the railing that is supposed to protect people from falling from the second floor. It had such big gaps in it that we always had to hold the kids when walking there, as they could easily walk under the rail and fall off. This was the same at the stream that goes next to the hotel - it is dangerous, and I don't understand how this even complies with basic safety regulations. The hotel is located right next to a place where they regularly hold weddings, so if you want a quiet night then make sure that you book a room that has windows facing the main road, not the inner yard.
Overall it was okay for two nights, but the only reason we stayed here is that we were invited to a wedding and we didn't have any other options. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend...
Read moreLast autumn we took a trip to northern Hungary and booked a double room for two nights in Hotel Szeleta near Miskolc.||Check in on arrival was fast and efficient, but we were surprised when we were told that we must pay for the accommodation in advance.||Our room was small, there were cracks on the walls and wallpapers broken on some places. Furniture was plain, but enough for two people staying for a short time. Beds were removed from the originally planned places so bedside lamps were on the wrong places. Our window overlooked the nice garden of the hotel and even a small waterfall was seen from there.||At night the room was a little noisy due to the speeding motorcycles and buses climbing the hilly main road close to the hotel.||Choice of food for breakfast was OK, quality average from the local supermarket.||Free tickets to the Diosgyor castle and Miskolctapolca cave bath were also provided for the hotel guests.||In summary staff, service, cleanliness were OK, value for...
Read moreWe have stayed there in October on a sunny warm weekend, and had a great time. The hotel has two buildings for the guests. Our apartment-room was located in the one closer to the main road, and you have to get up the room by a spiral staircase. The kids loved it! ||The service was very good and friendly, the ladies really did their bests to provide us everything possible and beyond. Breakfast was more than we needed, and they were superb with the children. ||The hotel has its own salt cave room (this is a quiet room, but don't expect too much), sauna (we didn't try) a small outside pool, and a nice green garden with trees and benches. ||The only downside was the beds in one of the rooms. Our apartment had a bedroom, and a living room with a sofa what opens up for two, and that wasn't too comfortable, but it was all right. ||One tip for the hotel: apply real curtains please able to shut off the sun in the morning, it gets VERY bright way too soon for a...
