I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and i'm writing this review because i want to help travelers not to waste a lot of money by staying at this hotel.||||1) Location: ||In the middle of nowhere...and it is disappointing when you arrive to the hotel that it is placed just 10 meters from very poor houses of a lot of gypsies and you actually have to take a street without real pavement to reach the hotel and i was even worrying about the car parked in front of the hotel||||2) Amenities:||- The park and the pools will be great....yes, when they will be ready and finalized. Now one pool is under constructions with direct connection to a playground for kids...||- In the park the grass and the plants were in "early phase", not finalized, not structured||- Wifi is fine but hard to find telecom operator connection as the hotel is really in the countryside||||3) Room:||- It seems they wanted to build something in historic style. I'm wondering how they came to the final decor, which is between modern and historic and in addition to that the smaller part of the room (for the kids) was in totall different style.||- Only positive thing that the room for the children is really children friendly. All electric devices equipped with parent control, plastic table and chairs, etc||- Very negative that the door could not be closed from outside by the keycard and this leeds to the next topic of staff.||||4) Staff:||- Front desk agent was mixing our rooms at arrival and when we entered in the room we could not find the bed for small chlid. I asked the reception and they told me that they have put this bed in the room of my brother. Fine, but instead of having someone moving the bed, i needed to do it myself. In a 4 star hotel? Really???||- When i noticed that the door is not closing, i asked the front desk to check. After 5 min they told me it is closing correctly. I accepted but when i reentered by room without the keycard by opening the door by pushing with 1 finger, i asked again to show me how to close properly. The guy came with me and first he admitted that he he checked previously another room. Then he admitted that he can't fix this but he ensured me that they have cameras on the floors....||- My brother needed also to contact the front desk because the safe was not working. First they told him that he was drunk...he only took 1 beer 3 hours before and when they finally agreed to come and check they admitted that it was really not working.||||Restaurant: ||- We brought some bottles of really good vine for the wedding of my brother and the hotel accepted them and they offered they will serve them. The waiter just crashed the cork in the bottle...He then filtered the whole bottle but he served in glasses used for water or beer...Are they kidding?||||Final discussion with the front desk:||- In the morning i wanted to check the bill and they charged on the room the dinner for the mother of my wife. She wasn't included as guest of the wedding but we paid her 1 night including dinner. I asked the front desk not to charge this dinner on the final bill as it was included normally in the nightly rate which we paid for her and in the meantime i reminded them about the number of problems (door not closing, safe not working, child bed not in the correct room, etc) that we encountered. The front desk was arguing but finally accepted, not to charge.||||Overall, i was disappointed about the level of completeness of the hotel, about the mix of style, the location, the amenities but mainly the staff's attitude was terrible.||||I would say for this price and with this attitude the hotel will have less and less guests and i would forecast max 2 more years before closing.||||My recommendation is to stay away...
Read moreOur trip started by not being able to find it with the GPS. Reason being it's too new. You'll need to enter Nyiradony-Tamasipuszta as the city/town. At first, the town doesn't look like much. It's a village in the middle of an otherwise beautiful region. We noticed a nicely paved bicycle trail from much before the town, going all the way to Debrecen. You can get bikes from the hotel as a perk. You will notice two huge buildings towering the village. Borostyan is the one to the right as you stare toward the hills they're both built on. It's an imposing structure. It looks like a castle from faraway. We entered the property through its imposing gates, parked, grabbed our suitcases and walked up the hill. You can do that yourself or call the receptionist to help with a cart. The property is majestic, no words to describe. You can't help but wonder, is it new or old. Looks old, but everything is much too manicured. Too many things look new. Upon entering the hotel, you're greeted by a grand foyer with a huge chandelier and lots of marble. We were greeted by the nice receptionist man who helped us with all the suitcases upstairs and showed us a few of the amenities in the way, mainly the smaller dining room, then the elevator. We had two rooms booked for two families. One for two children, which was one of the many theme rooms, this something dragon-related and a baby bed. There's also a king size bed in the other two rooms Suite with flat screen TVs in both rooms. The other room wasn't as large but plenty for a couple. Also with a nice stone-ladden bathroom and a flat screen TV. Just a couple of things that bothered us, possibly because they're not expected in Europe, we weren't sure: there was no Kleenex in the room, only two bath and two hand towels, which were never changed the next day. The lady came into the room to make the beds even though we had the "Do not disturbe" sign on the door, and even though she came the said towels weren't changed.||This property is all about relaxing. A large pool, one was still being built outside, with 4 mud/mineral water smaller pools, one hottub still being built outside, a larger and a smaller sauna inside, a salt sauna and an infra sauna as well. A separate place for children to play inside with their own smaller pool. I had a chocolate massage which was just Ok as I didn't expect a spa massage to actually help with pain. The woman was just superficial.||Outside is real nicely landscaped. A real nice, romantic Park with benches. A real nice outdoor area for weddings, with benches and an altar. In between, nice landscape, flower beds and old treed areas. ||We had a wonderful time there with the family and can't wait to go back, maybe in a few years when it's finished and our daughter is older.||We know this place has just opened and still putting finishing touches, but all in all it was an amazing experience for the whole family. Between my partner and I we decided it was the nicest wellness place either of us had...
Read moreThe building, rooms are really-really nice. Most of the staff members were also very kind. We have received a room upgrade with themed child-room. Having a separated room for kids is a rarely seen surprise. We've loved it. The wellness part is above average. Two indoor pools for smaller kids, one small outside. Four thermal pools with different temperature. And others... The saunas were a bit down. infra-cabin was operating only during the morning, while finnish was open only during the afternoon (though its a big one). Steam was open all along.
On the other end... A wedding was organized during our stay. The late night party disturbed our night which was quite uncomfortable considering we were with children. If only we would have been informed during our booking? Or there would be a public calendar indicating it. Or at least we could have been moved to a far away room, so we would not have been exposed to the basskick. The dinning hall was a bit too cold. They struggled to keep up with the refills. 40 minutes after breakfast/diner started some food simply went out of stock. We have had four meals, where 80% of the options were constant, zero change in the sidedishes. One of the waiters was quite rude (others were nice).
The entertainment facility was free. Though with few exception they were semi-broken. Snooker missing the ball-8. Table soccer broken and missing balls. There were two, modern touchscreen/digital game for smaller kids (fun up to 10y?). They...
