The property has a huge amount of redeeming qualities but there are a couple quirking things that will prevent it from being an authentic property that is a preferred destination for Papa. "As is", it gets the job done (bed and internet)||||Someone has done a good job of getting the rooms, period decoration and and neat "nic naks" to the level that you say to yourself "that is neat or well done", but there after I get the feeling that time has stood still. It is neat but there are a few quirky things that make you get the feeling that the property is a part time endeavor or forgotten.||||Check-in is strictly at about 16:00 or a bit past. I was done with my business by 14:00 and they did not answer their door bell or phone and this was very annoying. Sure they say check in is 16:00 but I have stayed in countless of places that say the same thing and they make themselves available earlier. This is a huge issue for me. Do you want to make this a business or do you want a part time side line business?||||I speak /understand enough German to figure out what the owner was saying so no problem but if you are an English Speaker and only English you may have an issue.||||The grounds (albeit) in off season seem to have been grand at one point, but that point has passed. They are still neat but it just lacks a sense of care. I just sense the place is in decline. ||||Having said this, the owner was generally kind, and cordial. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the rooms were clean.||||The WIFI is really poor but they do have Ethernet cable so you can connect (circa 1993) but it does the job and is STRONG, so can not fault them for internet. Bottom line they accomplished the task of keeping guests connected to worldwide web.||||BOTTOM LINE: Would I stay here again and would I recommend it? Answer: Yes to both.||||The place has HUGE potential but customer service needs to improve to be able to...
Read moreThe Edvy is a hotel based in an original grist mill. The rooms are very nice, the furnishings are antiques. The owner and family are very gracious and easy to work with. It's located on the edge of town, so it's very quiet. But it's also a 5-7 minute walk into town for dinner. They offer breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was varied and lovely each day. Dinner was cooked by a local chef and each was wonderful. Wifi in the courtyard was very strong. The ethernet cable in the room did not work in every room, that's the only...
