We have recently returned home after our best ever holiday experience in Pronay Kastely in Alsopethene in Hungary. Our five star accommodation was situated on a magnificent site which included woodland, lake, manicured gardens, beautiful walkways, water features, picnic areas and much more. The house we stayed in was magnificent. It had three large bedrooms and adjoining living rooms all equipped with flat screened TVs all beautifully decorated with impressive antique furniture. The house also boasted a splendid dining room and a kitchen with every modern convenience imaginable. Adjacent to the house was the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi pool which we had access to every day. This was definitely the nicest wellness area I have ever experienced. It was remarkable clean, and had a range of relaxing features which included top quality lighting and an impressively innovative design. The garden was equipped with beautiful furniture which we used to relax, read, sunbathe or enjoy a peaceful breakfast.||Each week end the Castle accommodated a Wedding Reception in the hotel situated on the grounds. The level of detailed service provided to the wedding party was particularly impressive. The quality of food, entertainment, and luxury accommodation is unparalleled. We have already decided where we will host our next family wedding reception!!!!||Our family consisting of two adults and four teenage children had the luxury of holidaying in Pronay Kastely for three weeks. The staff were exceptionally friendly, kind and helpful. We had the use of bikes which we used to cycle along the beautifully tree lined roads of northern Hungary and visit a range of beautiful villages and lakes nearby. There was a large range of top quality restaurants within a short driving distance from the hotel as well as water and land activities which kept our children entertained||The biggest compliment I can pay to Pronay Kastely and its superb staff is that we will DEFINITELY return as all six family members rated it as the best holiday experience we ever had. Hungary is one of Europe's hidden gems regarding a holiday experience. The weather is perfect with constant sunshine in the mid 20s. There is very little humidity and it feels remarkably pleasant both day and night. The cost of living there represents very good value for the tourist, the people are very friendly and helpful and everywhere is impressively clean.||A special thanks to Jozsef, Sylvia, Anita and Jocci in particular who went beyond the call of duty to make our holiday such a positively...
Read moreWe’ve spent a weekend here with the family. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, but most of all they are very comfortable. Mine had a view of the village and the little church, so it was quite nice the appreciate the quiet village idyll. ||We arrived on a Friday, they welcomed us with a drink lemonade or a glass of wine, it was a nice touch. We tried the wellness after settling in, no complaint, everything is how it should be. In the evening we attended a wine tasting dinner in the mansion’s Werbőczy Salon. The dinner was very well thought out and cooked to perfection, every wine complemented the dishes, the only exception being the dessert in my opinion. The presentation was also flawless. My only complaint was the seating arrangement, all the attendees had to sit at a table together, so if you arrived with your partner you didn’t really had the chance to talk and review things independently, because others mostly older women were yapping about their life’s history. ||The buffet breakfast and dinners were well-made and the choices are abundant. The waitress is a bit too eager to clear your plates, which can be irritating a bit, but nothing that can’t be worked on. ||If you love nature like we did, I recommend the trail to the lookout then to Romhány and back, it will be very rewarding with nice things to see. ||All in all a very idyllic weekend, strongly recommended for recharging...
Read morePronay Castle is quite an out of the way location, I got here via a coach which was arranged from the city to accommodate a large wedding party. It was quite a drive but the scenery is lovely, old hills and fields. Be mindful that this is a rural area and therefore there isn't really anything to do outside of the resort, not that I could ascertain. Transport is limited in the area.||||The 'castle' is beautiful, it's not a traditional castle like you would associate in the UK, it's a fairly modern building. The gardens and walks are wonderful, very tranquil and serene. I was here for a wedding, which was held on a sunny day in one of the garden grounds. It really was a beautiful venue for this traditional Hungarian wedding. We had the wedding dinner (or wedding breakfast as its also called) inside, this was a buffet meal of hot food. Different to other weddings but certainly just as good. There was a room for dancing and merriment after.||||I didn't stay in the main castle but in the newly built outer building just off it. I have no complaints at all, it was very modern, very clean, I had an excellent nights sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful and kindly booked a taxi for me to return to the city the...
