The hosts Balázs and Erika have created a veritable jewel of a holiday home in the middle of Pócsmegyer, a quaint little village some 25min away from artsy Szentendre. In about 45min, you're in Bupadest. Mayday Cottage is a very tastefully renovated pannonian farmhouse that features two seperate apartments (1 two bedroom and 1 single bedroom), a lovely garden, a porch, and a courtyard. Folkloristic deco objects in the garden and on the porch create a lovely authentic atmosphere without drifting off into kitsch. Both appartments are equipped with top-notch kitchen appliances (oven, induction hob, Nespresso machine etc.),sufficient cutlery, tableware and glassware. Wifi works speedy and stable. If you are craving for a quiet, relaxed time in style on the Hungarian countryside (and yet want to stay online and connected for whatever reasons), look no further. This is your spot :-) The region itself is a marvel too. You're on a 40km long island, that stretches from old Visegrad castle to the outskirts of Budapest. A bridge in Tahitótfalu connects the island to the mainland, as do a couple of large and small ferries (rév and komp). Szentendre can also be reached by bike and ferry in about 40min. The Danube with its pristine riverbank and forests provides endless opprtunities for swimming, fishing, kayaking, birdwatching, ...etc. Naturelovers, cyclists and hikers will feel at home here. All you need and more! Mayday cottage is a beautifully renovated old house with all the modern comfort. I loved that everything was spascious: the bedrooms, the living room, the separate “summer kitchen” dining area. It has an all-around-the year garden with flowers blooming throughout the year, herbs, grapes, tomaties and apple trees. We tried the sauna when the weather cooled down, and enjoyed the jacuzzi. The Danube is literally 2 mins away, and there are several opportunities for water sports, bike rides, hikes, horse riding etc which the kind owner so helpfully advises on. A szállás felszereltségén kívül külön szeretném kiemelni az apró kis részleteket is, amikbe a házigazda látszik, hogy rengeteg energiát fektetett, és nagyon jól tud esni vendégként, hogy mennyi mindenre gondol.
