Bugs, bread crumbs in the couch and absolutely awful owner! My room had several (I saw 3) stink bugs in it, on the windows and curtains. After some discreet reclamations, they offered to clean it again, which I first declined, because I didn’t know if the bugs came from the outside or the room was infested. After talking with customer service on booking.com, I was informed that the bugs aren’t harmful to humans and so I accepted the cleaning. While my room was being cleaned, I waited in the lobby, making a phone call, where I complained about the bugs in the room. I saw that other guests were checking in, so I lowered my voice as much as possible. The owner (Zoltán Gottwald) stopped me in the lobby and said word for word “Yes, bugs exist, we can’t do anything about it. Next time be more discreet.” I have never been treated this disrespectfully in my entire life, not to mention in a Hotel. Even after the second cleaning, there were still bugs on the curtains (see the pictures). I have seen cleaner/better rooms in 1 star hotels, not to mention 4 star hotels. I strongly advise everyone to look for the 3-4 other Hotels with similar accommodations instead...
Read moreWe stayed for two nights at Hotel Gottwald and it was...ok. The first room we got smelled so bad of sewer coming from the bathroom that we had to change rooms. The second room we got had no sewer smell but had a faulty air conditioner so our room was a constant 30 degrees Celsius. Too hot to sleep in. We tried to ask for a fan, were first told they didn't have one by one lady, but eventually got one about 10.30 at night when we asked a man at the reception area.||We were clearly visiting the hotel during off-season, but that shouldn't have made a difference. The breakfast was from 6-10, but when we arrived at 9 there was no food left! They didn't' bother refilling the eggs or sausages for example.||They also advertise various massages - ranging from Swedish to hot stone, but they have no masseuse! So that's just great.||Also, use Google Translate religiously, they barely speak English or none at all! ||One positive thing is the location. Rent a bike from the hotel and go on the trail that surrounds the öreg lake - very beautiful! ||Disappointing stay. I...
Read moreI spent two days in the hotel with my colleagues. ||The hotel is in the forest with walking distance (about 200 m) from the lake. It's recommended to arrive by car, as the nearest train station is about 6 km. If you want to go to the town, it's better to go by car too, as the Tata castle is about 3 km from the hotel, and the road is narrow without sidewalk. ||I really loved the interior and the hall in the hotel, it's elegant and very pleasant for good price.||Rooms were okay, nothing special, with clean bathroom and comfortable bed.||I highlight the catering and the quality of the dishes. We had all inclusive service, with very tasty dishes. ||Teas were great but the coffee machine wasn't a good one, as the hot chocolate was terrible, absolutely tasteless.||Spa was good, with jacuzzi, sauna and infra sauna. Swimming pool was a bigger one (about 20 m long), but the water was rather cold.||The hotel has a big and beautifully kept garden. There is free parking in front of the hotel.||The hotel provides free WIFI in the hall and in the...
