This was the most disappointing stay of our short trip to the north. We stayed here with our friends, booked a room with two double beds very expensive for one night. It turnout out to be a double bed room with a sofa and it was prepared as it was supposed to be 3 people there (obviously we where 4). When we walked in, noticed a bag of pills and a used glass on top of the toilet, the bathroom clearly didn't looked clean. The lady at the reception was the most unprofessional person I have encounter until this day, gave very poor excuses and took an eternity to fix our problems. We left the hotel around 18h30 and when we came back around 22h30 nothing had been changed. Even thought we went twice to the reception to complain. When we finally got the extra pillow and duvet, the other lady that brought it, just simply thrown it at us. We kindly asked to be refund at least for the breakfast as a compensation of all the troubles we had encounter since check-in, which was very rudely declined. Not to mentioned, the restaurant that day could only serve the Today's Special because they had a group for dinner. This was a new one for me. Internet didn´t really worked either. Worst costumer service EVER! And believe me I work at a Hotel as well. I guess the owner/manager of this hotel doesn't really care about what's going on. If you are thinking in stay here, just search for something else, this was the only option available when we booked it. Believe me, I would prefer to do extra kilometres than to...

TLDR : Impossible to reach to change our booking for 2 months, leaving us without accommodation at the last minute, still cashed in our money without any commercial gesture or explanation regarding their absence of answer.

Extremely unprofessional. Do not recommend.

My friend and I booked this hotel 2 months ago but immediately noticed we mixed up the date. (We arrived a day earlier than booked)

For 2 months we tried to contact the hotel via email, Facebook, website without any success.

5 days ago, we finally receive an email: "Do you still want to change your booking?"

Well... Yes. We answered a few minutes after.

No answers.

We poke them several times. No answers.

We still go to the hotel on the day before our wrong booking.

Welp, the person at the counter couldn't do anything for us, hotel was booked, it didn't know about the emails, reservation can't be changed or refunded : Bye !

No commercial gesture or anything leaving us empty handed and with our cash taken despite wanting to correct the initial mistake for 2 months.

In short : Terribly unprofessional...

We stayed in the cottages which were super private and cute. Jacuzzi but too cold to use. Finding the cottages was difficult as the directions given was not clear but the lady in the front was super nice to drive and escort us to the cottages as it is away from the main hotel. ||||One negatives we had was the place had way too many flies. I spent the night trying to kill flies as I can hear them flying around me. Def great for groups of people. There were 3 of us and we each had our own private decent size rooms. Full kitchen and living room but due to the flies we did not hang out there much. Oh and it took forever to figure out how to lock the doors,...you have to bring the handle up to lock with the key.||||Was finally able to see the Northern Lights here probably too b/c it was super dark away from the city. This place is 30 mins away from the beer bath and this is why we stayed here. Just a few mins drive away from Akureyri city. ||||Overall I would stay here again with groups of friends due to the size and location of the place. Hopefully by then they would fix the...

Excellent choice of hotel if you're staying around the Akureyri area. The level of service from all the hotel staff was exceptional! Going above and beyond to please their guests and ensure everyone was satisfied. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Hotel is only a short drive away from the main town centre while also being ideally situated far enough to have a chance at seeing the Northern Lights. We were lucky enough, with the guidance of hotel staff, to see the Northern Lights - and during a summer month! While the lights were barely visible from the city centre, staying at this hotel was the perfect choice as light pollution was much less. This left us with memories we'll forever cherish. Will definitely stay here again on another trip around Iceland.

While the hotel seems mostly quiet the room is relatively dirty. There's trash in the night stand. The floors under/around the bed are sticky. Boogers smeared on the curtains. Body grease/filth coat the walls by the bed. I'm not entirely sure they actually cleaned this room.
